"We have the worst political reporters in the world, worthless lickspittles, holding a ruined system together with their saliva." That's still my favourite.

So proud of all my former colleagues for running such an open and collaborative process for union recognition. By working together theyāll be able to make the RSA an even better place to work and live out the values of the organisation āØ
š„Itās the moment weāve all been waiting for⦠the RSA ballot results are in! With a whopping 86% of the vote, and 85% turnout ā the RSA have voted IN FAVOUR of recognition! You can read all about it in the latest from @TomWall and @theGuardian hereā¦. https://t.co/v9JyDgF9k9

Leaving people to try and cope on their own will have long-term consequences, for them and the economy. Already we're seeing a rising number of people too unwell to work due to mental ill health. (Green is 50-64s, blue is 16-34s, red is 35-49s) https://t.co/MABZVeFogB

Again, @sarahoconnor_ proving herself a first-rate journalist @FT #Mentalhealth demands more attention from employers & the state, as the alternative is deeply ingrained, chronic ill health and ~gasp~ impacts on productivity #DecentWork #CostOfLivingCrisis

Admirable restraint from Jason Lee, who was subjected to relentless harassment due to 90s 'comedy' sketch. Absolutely spot on re the need for solidarity, & that defending the downtrodden can't & shouldn't just be limited to those who share similar characteristics to oneself
Since finishing my playing and coaching career, my work has been focused on diversity and inclusion. I believe we must all do the work to better understand the experiences of others, which is why I am committed to allyship for all communities facing discrimination. (8/9)

10. This attitude is endemic in social housing, I worked for three providers, all claimed to have the tenant at the heart of their enterprise, all purely focused on cutting corners and costs and all had an undercurrent of classism, xenophobia, racism and contempt for tenants.

Excellent critique on the dangers of 'merry-go-rounds of self congratulation': "The defining feature of... the #SocialHousing sectorās response to each of these clarion calls... is to suppose that criticism or the need to change does not apply to them or the orgs they work in."

Incredible film skills here, but you absolutely couldn't make this up: quite telling how that landlord could be so unself-aware #CostOfLivingCrisis #DecentHomes

Clear message from @MoneySavingExp Martin Lewis on why we should all hold back from buying presents that are a hindrance rather than a help or bringing joy, whether for gifter or recipient https://t.co/70wRsi246L Focused on #CostOfLivingCrisis but also relevant for reducing waste

Before giving gifts this holiday season, first ask yourself honestly if they're going to be a help or a hindrance for the people receiving them. That's the message from MoneySavingExpert.com founder...

Exactly this
We have heard calls for housing disasters to be ādefining momentsā before. 5 years after the Grenfell disaster, and 2 years after Awaab Ishakās death, there are tenants living TODAY in damp, mouldy, leaking, dangerous homes. They are screaming into the void. Who is listening?

Excellent work here from @FT @ejhollowood @niko_tinius creating a visual of how poor standards of domestic insulation cost households dearly in their bills https://t.co/iAisMOE5ln It doesn't need to be like this #ClimateAction #EnergyCrisis #InsulateBritain

Thought of this when I saw what on face of it is "good" news re https://t.co/mKF91x7fmX accessing finance for decarbonising energy system... no mention of rates or terms: hopefully not as extortionate as the loan still faced by Ghana #debt #climatefinance
aljazeera.com
Africa's most industrialised economy is heavily dependent on coal, which generates 80 percent of its electricity.
One of the most outrageous bonds out there must be the $1bn lent to Ghana in 2015 at 10.75% interest with a $400m guarantee from the World Bank. A buyer of the bond in 2015 is already guaranteed to get $1.15bn. And they are still 'owed' $1bn, and $860m of interest payments / š§µ
