Thanks to @IronbridgeGMT for hosting @cinderloo1821 exhibition in 2021/22. Here is brilliant short film 'Shadows in the dust" using pieces from the exhibition to re-tell the story https://t.co/TlDOTqB3IO

1/- Cinderloo - in 1821 - 18months after Peterloo in Manchester England miners in Shropshire struck and were also attached by the yeomanry. Lots of local activists and amateur historians worked for the 200th anniversary but it was wrecked by lockdown. https://t.co/UPPGry53MV

Brilliant tribute to Malcolm Peel talking and teaching about the subject he knew best - mining, miners and and its importance to our area. Thank you at @HeritageMartinP @telfordlive @TelfordMemories
@cinderloo1821 @shroppiemon @telfordlive @conceptacassar @WordSparks @JillImpey @HistoryWM As with Cinderloo, Malcom Peel left us a legacy, including this stimulus film for schools. He helped plan & appeared in it. “Exploring Our Coal Mining Heritage”

Thanks @HeritageMartinP we will pass your great tribute on to his family
Deeply saddened by news of Malcolm Peel’s passing. Malcolm was a hugely significant part of success of #HeritageSchools around T&W & West Mids. One of our esteemed Granville Boys, Malcolm visited 20+ schools, speaking to 1000+ pupils, exploring #Shropshire #coalmining #heritage.

We are saddened to hear that Malcolm Peel has died at home this week aged 79. Malcolm provided much of the narrative to the Cinderloo story with his family history research, local geographic knowledge and understanding of mining and miners helping to piece together the story

Good to meet and greet Peter Jackson of @cinderloo1821 at Tolpuddle Old Chapel this week. Enjoy his blog post - ' A postcard from George Loveless to Tom Palin'. George was one of the Dorsetshire Labourers and founding Trustee of Tolpuddle Old Chapel in 1818

Calling it Tolpuddleloo would have made a lot of sense as a chapter in labour history ended and a new one began. Thoughts? @kmflett
The #TolpuddleMartyrs were *defensive of the Freedom to think, speak and argue Their memory *prevents the tyrany they opposed returning The restoration of the @TolpuddleOCT *perfectly represents the legacy they left behind @what3words #benchmarks

We are really sorry to hear this sad news. Geoff was an active supporter of the Cinderloo project with his wife Rachael. Our thoughts are with Rachael and family at this time.
1/3 We are saddened to learn of the sudden passing away of one of our key volunteers in Geoff Fordham at the age of 73. Geoff, with his wife Rachael have been long standing supporters of the Orbit, who have worked with us in helping our bid writing for grants and other finances
