Some women in history make big waves. 17yr old Lepa Radić was captured in Feb ‘43, the Nazis tied a rope around her neck but said: Give up your comrades & your leaders' identities. Lepa said she was no traitor & responded: You will know them when they come to avenge me

8am EST. Time for my annual lols 4th July post, where I chuckle with my American friends and await the one or two of their countrymen lacking a sense of humoUr to pop along 😂😂😂
This weekend I posted a picture of a statue, some Christmas party content and some pictures from a museum.

was of his time. Applying today’s morals on history is a pointless, unhelpful endeavour. We learned that these opinions were bad. We evolved past them. We regret them. Saying he has parallels w Hitler is grotesque. He helped save the world from his ilk
Keeping the Churchill family boiler suit tradition alive - tho Grandad’s were probably tailored on Saville Row and mine were borrowed off of another member of the tank crew twice my size in the Finnish forest 😂 🇫🇮

Lord Nelson passed through this tunnel

Here’s to a tireless woman who gave her country almost a century of service. On a personal level her kindness including opening documents to me that had not been released before to share her family history. For all of this, thank you Your Majesty, and good night.
It takes a monumental effort to hold the Victory up in dry dock in the right way. This started in 1925 when my boy George V noticed her sagging and had it sorted out. These days, she’s constantly monitored by computers, and the placement of the struts mimics the forces that would…
Love his films, but he’s being douchey. So I wrote Ridley a letter
Dear Mr. Scott,
You picked one of the most famous, polarising characters in history to make a film about and then didn’t stick to the facts.
That’s great, you do you, make buckets of money. (feel free to…
Ridley Scott has resorted to that time-dishonoured and lamest excuse for getting his history wrong in his Napoleon film. Telling people 'you can't know because you weren't there' negates the whole pursuit of historical knowledge, and basically gives you a pass to make it all up.
It was a claustrophobic couple of days mostly underground but definitely worth it to tell these Verdun stories. It will all be on your TVs next year

We’ve waited so long to share this. It’s been two years of hard work, we’ve even learned new languages to be able to tell the story the way we want to. We’ve already laughed, screamed, cried and jokingly called each other every name under the sun but I couldn’t

This is a really depressing time to be a historian. Especially on this platform. Years of work in multiple fields being shat on and politicised. Stick to the facts and you’ll be abused by a hysterical mob which overwhelmingly hasn’t bothered educating itself before wading in
