Let’s go back to 2010! We didn’t need cancer pathways as urgent referrals were seen in 2-3 weeks, routine in 2-3 months Recruitment was rising, jobs were good. It wasn’t perfect but in 4 decades of NHS work it was the best it had been THEN SOMETHING HAPPENED ….

.@lakeside_tw, Banning masks is NOT acceptable. We are in the midst of a HUGE flu wave. @UKHSA have specifically advised people to wear masks if they need to go out when ill. Many people will also be choosing to mask to protect themselves from infection. Please reconsider.

Good to see that our results are replicated in different cohorts using different methods. Scientific research is brutal where popularism is favored over out of the box ideas. But it is also exciting to see that we are much closer to understanding this disease than before.

“Hospitals are killing patients because they don't feel like doing infection control” The apathy from NHS staff around airborne transmission is utterly surreal. The current flu crisis is largely preventable. So why aren’t they even trying?

The UK government would rather see schools CLOSE than install the recommended air filters - just like the ones MPs have in Parliament! It’s disgusting negligence. Labour MPs were banging on about the importance of clean air before got into power, so they know. They bloody know.

I keep getting messages and hearing snippets from people who sit in various cross-department government working groups. Over the last couple of years there’s been a steady drumbeat of concern, but recent ones have felt a bit more like panic:
