I am often asked on school visits (inc yesterday), if can recommend other authors. Soooo. @ClareFurniss is a gifted, compelling speaker on writing, and her book The things we leave behind seems to be on every shortlist there is (won some too!).

This is so deserved. The book: Ettie and the Midnight Pool, is as wonderful and mysterious as the pool in the story. If you haven't read it, dive in! (sorry).
