Synthesis Tutor is off to the races. We are on pace for well over $10M revenue in 2025. Subscribed students up 4.5x year over year. Families clearly want a trustworthy AI tutor.

Holiness must blossom precisely where decisions are made that affect the lives of thousands of families. The world needs entrepreneurs and leaders who, out of love for God and neighbor, work for an economy that serves the common good. It is possible to be both an entrepreneur and

The correct answer is: SOCIAL TIME. A few hours a day playing with other kids. Thats the one thing you can’t fix later, and also guaranteed to help them in life (unlike say, piano). There really is no second place. Chill about everything else until your child socializes well.

OK, let’s put on our striver parent hats for a second. I have a four-year-old. I’m not neurotic about getting such a young kid involved in a bunch of different stuff, but what things have the highest return for early involvement? What should I be thinking about? Any specific

The key to building great schools is great people. A lot of great people want to help kids but don't want to work in "the system." Primer is solving that. They might be the first to build a scalable school model.

The Primer Fellowship is back. If you've dreamed of launching your own school in FL, AL, TX or AZ — we built this for you. We're on a quest to ensure this is the last generation left behind by the US K-12 system, and we need your help. Let's launch some schools!

The Curse of Knowledge is the biggest obstacle to teaching well. You don't understand how much knowledge you have and take for granted. Raising kids makes this very clear.

If my son’s friends are any indication, the other 760 million are students using it to cheat on homework. And possibly their teachers using it to grade said homework.

Is it just me or is 40 million paying ChatGPT users kind of low? Spotify has 276 million paid subscribers. Just kind of surprised that there are 760 million people who don't feel like they'd derive an additional $20 of value from a more capable model.

Convinced mediocre work only persists because the people doing it can’t even recognize it as mediocre. Mediocrity is downstream of taste more so than ability.

Trying to persuade the 11yo to drop out of 6th grade and return to homeschool. He agrees school is a colossal waste of his time and potential. However, he makes the following (admittedly strong) counterpoint: It has girls.

Some people are just petty bureaucrats who hate the idea of anyone enjoying life without their permission. But mostly they don’t want you to vacation because school funding is tied to attendance.

It’s 2025 and I actually have parents trying to defend pulling their child out of school for a vacation. I get a death. I get granny is turning 100 and lives out of state. But to get a cheaper vacation- nope. Can’t ever support that.

Because this one is reaching teachers I should clarify what I meant was: for the people reading this post, YOU can teach your kids to read very easily. I think it’s probably not easy to teach 20 kids at the same time.

Teaching kids to read is insanely easy. They need to memorize about 75 things — 35 phonics rules and 40 sight words like “the” that are hard to sound out. At that point they can start reading books on their own and filling in the gaps. “Bob books” are great to start.

Mississippi switched to a phonics/science of reading curriculum and began requiring that students who weren't reading at grade level be held back. Worked like a charm. California Teachers Union is vehemently in opposition of doing the same thing, killing the bill in CA.

With AI tutors elementary school could be 5 hours of recess with 1 hour of tutoring and kids would still come out far ahead of their peers. No homework either.

Our 9yo was until recently the least motivated student of all time. Wife finally figured out he has to MOVE to learn. Now he walks laps around the kitchen table while curling hand weights while she calls out questions from his lessons. He’s doing well.
