NEW: The world’s wealthiest university, @Harvard, just announced massive cuts to its PhD programs — some slashed by 75%, others eliminated entirely. https://t.co/Bn8p7b5EcP Meanwhile, it’s partnering with the Trump administration… to open a network of trade schools.

update: I just spoke to the Johnstown, Colorado police department regarding the most recent Ali Alexander allegations. They told me: “This is still an open investigation with efforts ongoing.”
Ali Alexander (born Ali Abdul-Razaq Akbar) is a serial predator sex pest who, for the past ~8 years, has been Nick Fuentes’ closest friend, colleague, and confidant. thread 🧵

Alright. I watched the @TuckerCarlson interview with Nick Fuentes. In it, he comes across as pretty reasonable. If you're like me and have never really paid him any attention, you might be tempted to think he's another misunderstood young conservative like Charlie Kirk. Well,

The magazine published an article in its September issue that included a line — “Germany belongs to the Germans, France to the French, Britain to the British, America to the Americans”
The board of the Harvard Salient — a conservative student paper — has paused publication, saying the paper “has recently published articles containing reprehensible, abusive, and demeaning material.”

The H-1B is a temporary guest-worker visa. Funny how “temporary” now lasts decades….and somehow justifies a 30-year fiscal fairytale. How does the Manhattan Institute still get treated like a serious think tank?
The much-discussed H-1B visa is the best single visa type in terms of economic impact, with an average H-1B visa holder reducing the debt by $2.3 million over 30 years and expanding GDP by $500,000.

Why is the Manhattan Institute promoting mass migration from India when India is the third largest source of illegal immigration in the U.S.?
Crazy people on X are bashing Indian immigrants, but my new research published today finds that Indians are the best major country of origin group of immigrants. The average Indian immigrant and his or her descendants will save the federal government $1.7 million over 30 years.

Canadian parliament's Science and Research committee recently held hearings on DEI. Liberal MP @Taleeb pressed time and again for evidence on impacts of DEI. Nobody could present high quality evidence to support the idea that DEI improves student outcomes or scientific progress.
.@UWaterloo is hiring a tenured engineering professor. ''Eligible candidates are required to identify as a woman or gender equity-seeking group, which is defined to include individuals who self-identify as women, transgender, gender-fluid, non-binary, or Two-Spirit people''

Update: It got worse. The 2025 Econ PhD job market is now officially on track to be *worse* than the disastrous 2020 Covid market. While tenure-track jobs remain scarce, most of the decline comes from shrinking demand in the private sector, and a federal government freeze.
For decades, a doctorate in economics was a golden ticket. It promised a path to tenure, or at worst, a lucrative role at a central bank, think tank, or tech firm. Not anymore. The economics job market is in freefall, and the profession’s own data proves it.

« Several audience members identified themselves as being part of the Dominion Society, a Canadian anti-immigration group that seeks to deport between four and eight million people living in Canada through what it calls “remigration." »
