i founded my local youth strike for climate group and i still came out with 3 9’s (A**), 5 8’s (A*), and 2 7’s (A), and now i’m a multi-award winning activist and councillor studying politics at university. i don’t regret a single strike 🥰
I'm deeply concerned that some children are attending political protests during the school day.
Even more so if they're taking part in, or being exposed to, antisemitic chants.
This should be treated with the utmost seriousness - missing school for activism is unacceptable.

i know some people are going to be excited at the prospect of (yet another) by-election but it really angers me that these are ELECTED officials, and yet over 50 MP’s are under investigation for sexual misconduct. this victim first complained over 6 YEARS AGO, it’s heartbreaking.
🚨 || Peter Bone MP (CON, Wellingborough) is set to recieve a 6-week suspension from the House of Commons for 'varied acts of bullying and one act of sexual misconduct'.
This will trigger a recall petition within the constituency.

idk, when i was in year 10/11 i had major mental health problems and my attendance was less than 40%, but my school supported me and accommodated my needs so well that i managed to thrive in my GCSEs. i don’t think forcing kids to school when they’re ill is helpful or safe.
Improving attendance is my number one priority, so I’m glad that there are 380,000 fewer children persistently absent or not attending school than last year.
But we know we need to go further.
So today, we're taking action to improve attendance.

this ‘guidance’ will see a huge spike in mental health issues among young LGBT+ people, mark my words. outing vulnerable trans kids (who could be as old as 16!) who have confided in their teacher and may have abusive parents will kill.

after my abuser got sentenced, the police let him out of court at the same time as me and i saw him at the train station. i was alone without any protection, minutes after i caused him to go to prison for years; i had to call the police to escort me home. it is TRAUMATISING.
