60 years ago today ON THIS DAY in hockey history (February 9, 1966): The NHL announces 6 expansion franchises aka the "Second Six" set to join the league for the 1967/68 season: Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and St. Louis

7 years later, @NHLFlyers became the first expansion team to win the Cup. Then they won it again in 1975. Easy peasy. Or so it seemed. 51 years later, they are still looking for Cup III. It still stuns me.

Of course, Rasmus Ristolainen's trade interest and value is low. He has trouble staying healthy. Maybe if he is healthy following the Olympics, and right before the trade deadline. Maybe the Flyers would have significant trade value with him. But, he has to prove it FIRST
