A devastating story of forced labor, among other things. “I remember my doctor handing me a baby boy that was blue and cold. His eyes were closed and he wasn’t crying. And I remember her putting him on my chest…. I just felt numb…”
I don't think I've ever cried so much working on a story. Here is Deborah Dorbert, who was forced by @RonDeSantis to give birth to a baby she knew would die, in her own words: https://t.co/XIIVEO3o37

When politicians and lawyers try to dictate health care … people die. These laws are making it easier for medical malpractice to become commonplace. A predicable, preventable tragedy… beyond words. And a 6 year old son without his momma.
New: At least two women in Georgia died after they couldn't access legal abortions and timely medical care in their state, ProPublica has found. This is one of their stories.

Proud of the whole team at @ColumbiaOBGYN and @ColumbiaMSPH who helped make this happen. Grateful to @SGO_org for the plenary back in ‘21, and @gynoncjnls for the pub!

This is one of the first studies overlaying neighborhood SES and race alongside endometrial ca outcomes in the US — it involved merging huge datasets, geocoding 35k addresses, performing layers of statistical analysis to understand nuances by race, geography, time.

You can see the biggest racial disparity was in wealthy NYC neighborhoods. This disparity remained even when we controlled for things like histology, comorbidities, age, year of diagnosis.

🚨🚨🚨Our study on uterine ca outcomes, neighborhood deprivation and racial disparity is out!!! In short, poor neighborhood —> worse outcome. BUT for those w stage 3-4 - Black folks do poorly WHEREVER they live, while White folks do better in wealthy spots.

🙌🏾🙌🏾 a great listen! In the gyn onc world - I swear by a paracervical block for all my patients undergoing endometrial biopsy. Takes 1 min, patients do better, I can get better biopsy. And it’s not how I trained! It’s what I realized in practice. Can’t tell me any differently.
As a lifelong nerd, being on @scifri is like winning Ms. Universe. Thanks for the opportunity to discuss IUDs, pain, and patient-centered care!

Love this story of strength, resilience & advocacy.
Meet Patricia Salazar, an Ironman athlete who conquered more than just races. Her journey from the pinnacle of fitness to a #cervicalcancer diagnosis is a testament to resilience and the power of advocacy. Read her exclusive story via @people

“One important factor is the medical profession’s long-cultivated denial of the intrinsically political nature of medicine and public health… selectively appealing to political neutrality when convenient”
thenation.com
By ignoring the horrors in Gaza, our healthcare elites are adding to a shameful historical record of denialism.
