The project adds to our understanding about the identity and solidarity origins of political behavior among minoritized social groups, which may be especially relevant to the LGBTQ+ community during Trump's second term.

We additionally find that stronger LGBTQ+ linked fate is associated with a higher likelihood of turning out to vote, leaning liberal, stronger identification as a Democrat, and vote choice for Democratic candidates.

Using a oversample of ~2,000 LGBTQ+ Americans from the 2020 Collaborative Multiracial Post-Election Survey, we uncover differences in LGBTQ+ linked fate across gender identity, sexual orientation, race, and among those who have experienced discrimination.

We conclude by noting the potential relevance of anti-Asian attitudes in an era of continuing anti-Asian hate and in elections that increasingly feature candidates of Asian heritage running for various levels of government.

Using over time cross-sectional and panel data, we find that while anti-Asian attitudes were unrelated to vote choice between 2008-2016, that anti-Asian attitudes became associated with voting for Trump during the 2020 presidential election.
