Okay, I am done questioning and complaining. These are our boys. Let's ride. A little blurb on each player. Share this with new fans wanting a little info on each player.
I can't shake how beat up I am about Pepi. As a Mexican-American, it's rough. Knowing how hard of a decision it was for him to choose 🇺🇸. Knowing his story and the kind of kid he is — it breaks me up. Mexican-Americans are critical in our talent pipeline. I just don't get it.
Gregg said to Pepi/Tillman, "It's all good guys, you got the 2024 Olympics".
🙄
In all seriousness, absolutely sick about the Pepi decision. Not a single Mexican-American on the squad.
Not surprised Musah and Jedi are capturing people's attention throughout top clubs in Europe, but very surprised there isn't more noise around Tim Weah. Still early, but still seems he is undervalued. Seems like a smart club could get some real value there.

This one hurt my soul. Great ball from Wes to spring Dest. Look at where I pause. Pulisic calling for it in zone 14. If played, Christian has a 3v2 with Sargent to the left and Weah on the right. Likely a huge chance. Instead Dest waits and take poor touch. Devastating.
Highly possible Balogun is in Orlando to attend camp and get a feel for the guys, not to play, commit and get tied. Similar to Musah a couple of summers ago.
Even if, still a great sign and I love this group of guys ability to Kirby Smart the hell out of it.
🇺🇸 MLS Academy Rankings + Top 10 prospects for each 🇺🇸 MLS Academy.
This is the culmination of a years worth of work — relentlessly scouting MLS academies and talking to scouts, coaches, journalists, players, parents and agents.
I hope you enjoy it!
Ream was a step ahead of everyone
Dest had an extra dose of sauce
Adams proved me wrong, he was up for it
McKennie with a mature performance
Gio is the most important player on this team
Pulisic let the game come to him tonight
Wright showed toughness
Malik Tillman is receiving interest from Premier League and Bundesliga clubs. A move to England is currently likely. The €6M option to buy that was agreed with Rangers was canceled by Bayern. A decision is expected in the next four weeks.

If I am in that locker room and I find out Aaron Long is getting another start I am starting to loose faith in and respect for my manager.
Why is the rope for poor performance significantly longer for others?
Before someone calls me a euro snob. It’s not about Gregg selecting MLS players, it is who he has favored:
Long over Miazga
Acosta over Parks
Roldan over Williamson
Arriola/Morris over Djordje
No Tolkin or Vazquez
Main takeaway for me right now is that really good offensive sides have the confidence and ability to get the ball here. The USMNT has never been able to do it consistently under Gregg Berhalter.
To all of my fellow Mexican-American brothers and sisters who have been considering an allegiance switch...
Come on over. We welcome you with open arms. We are producing better footballers. We are getting better results. What better time than right damn now?
It's time for USMNT fans to start familiarizing yourself with Griffin Yow. I think he needs to be in the winger depth chart discussion. He is doing the things we've been wanting from Paredes in terms of 1v1 attack and creating danger. Not as explosive as Koleosho, but much better…
To all the young ballers that didn’t make the 🇺🇸 u17 roster that were right there, keep your head up and keep grinding. Remember that Weston McKennie was looked over many times at the youth level and now look at him. This is just a chapter in your story. A lot left to write.
Here is a good reference point for why solid, mid-20s MLS players are not moving to Europe. Weston, one of, if the not the best American player right now is getting a 2.5M/year offer from one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Miles Robinson is getting paid something like…
Zimmerman had a great block early in the game, but his distribution has been really shaky. I don't know if Iran is the game to bring in CCV, but you have to think about it.
Additionally, Scally has to be the

RB. Yedlin and Moore have come in and not done it.
🇺🇸 U20 players eligible, but not at this tournament: Gaga, Gómez, Wiley, Che, Vargas, Gutiérrez, Sealy & Pepi.

Gold Cup knockout plan if any of the injured guys are done
John Brooks 🔁 Aaron Long
Aidan Morris 🔁 Tanner Tessman (done getting married?) if not, Keaton Parks
Alan Sonora 🔁 Tim Tillman
Jordan Morris 🔁 Richie Ledezma
Starting XI for quarterfinal ⤵️
Cowell, Zendejas and Gaga were the standouts for me.
Neal was one big mistake away from a great performance—the life of a CB.
Great goal by Vazquez.
Entertaining game. All you can ask for.
Balogun, who we are all rightly excited about, was playing in a reserve league during his U20 season.
Pepi has double digital scoring contributions in the Eredivisie on a poor club.
Would not be a crazy projection for Pepi to be scoring 20+ goals in a top 5 league in 2 years.
I feel like Ricardo Pepi is underrated. Like this brother was born in 2003. He’s genuinely an elite striker prospect not just for our standards but the world’s standard.
A new 🇺🇸 abroad for people to get to know. His name is Evan Cusick (CB/2006) and he has signed with Chemnitzer FC in Germany.
His story is very unique: Started as a rec league player in rural Colorado with no large clubs within 4/5 hours drive. Went to Spain to study abroad at…

The San Jose Earthquakes midfielder replaces injured Alan Soñora.
This is surprising and a new scenario that we have not seen before. RBNY wanted to sign Worth to a HG deal. They have been high on him for some time, but Worth has decided to go to USL likely because it offers him first team minutes sooner and potentially a path to Europe sooner.
Sources: US youth int'l CM Nathan Worth is signing with USL club Tulsa.
Worth, 16, a standout for New York Red Bulls academy. Made 7 apps with RBNY II.
RBNY tried to sign him to a homegrown deal, but Worth inks a 2-year deal with Tulsa to leave for Europe after turning his 18.
Why are people mad that Jesus Ferreira is on the Gold Cup roster? He is leading MLS in goals and is bolstering a resume to move to Europe. Assuming Flo, Pepi & Sargent are not available. Who did people want over him? Haji? I can see that, but he also might be joining a new club.
Hey guys, the World Cup is going to be in the United States in 2026 and we are trending towards having our most talented team ever – in their prime. Soccer could explode in this country, so let's be ambitious and explore every option, ya know?

academy players. The resources that PS can provide will help me do this work I love at a much higher level.
...
Jedi and Ream were great. Musah was good. Pulisic had some moments but also not proactive enough. Balogun missed two penalties. Can we grow up and not act like the sky is falling every weekend if a couple of our top guys aren’t great?
The situation with Gio reads like this to me: plan before the game was to be cautious and save Gio for England. All parties knew that. Then the late goal happened and the competitor in Gio wanted in and was frustrated to not go in. I bet he starts tomorrow.
RICARDO PEPI GOAL 🇳🇱🇺🇸🚂 De Trein shows speed and power before finishing with his left. Groningen fans buoyant in face of relegation battle. Ninth Eredivisie goal of season for 20yo striker from El Paso, TX.
Malik Tillman:
- Massive W for 🇺🇸, another feather in GGGs recruiting cap
- Surprised he made the decision now
- 🇩🇪 clearly see it as a big loss
- Top prospect, but is he ready to impact USMNT
- What position is he best suited for in 4-3-3, CM? Wing? GGG sees him as a striker?
To Zack, Reggie, Sam, Miles, Chris, Mark, Erik, Jay, James, Johnny, Eryk, Malik, Djordje, Paul, Ricardo, Jordan...
We love and support y'all too. Heart broken for you. And we will be seeing you soon.

I am a youth talent scout. I start scouting at the U15 level and he played primarily at the U16 level. If it bothers you feel free to hit the block bruh.
"If it was about what you deserve, Ricardo Pepi wouldn't get one foot on the plane. ... If I was one of those players that was left off and this explanation came out, I'd be PISSED." 🗣

There has been a lot of talk about whether the next wave of USMNT prospects is as good as the current wave.
I am working on an article that goes deep into this question. I am really excited about it and hope you all enjoy it. It should be ready to publish tomorrow.
Hudson has been scanning USMNT Twitter over the last year and delivering everything the masses have been asking for.
Remove the interim tag and let AH cook.
(in a sarcastic voice with a smidge of questioning whether it should be sarcastic)
The 🇺🇸 U15s have put up back to back Ws v. 🇵🇹 and 🇮🇹 — both have been very impressive performances. Early days, but it's looking like a special class. You've probably seen the goals, but I wanted to clip some of the beautiful play this team is able to put together v. ⚽️ giants ⤵️
I am proud of how these guys showed up. If they can continue to progress together, add more depth and nail the next manager hire — they will be a big problem in 2026.
I'll be covering 🇺🇸 youth development so y'all know who is coming to push these guys. If you are down, join me.
Congratulations to the often forgotten in 🇺🇸 soccer world, Pellegrino Matarazzo, for keeping his club in the Bundesliga. He's a very well respected manager that should get more recognition.
Josh Wynder is the first player born in 2005 to get a USMNT call-up.
From 2004: Gaga Slonina and now Caleb Wiley
From 2003: Jonathan Gómez, Justin Che, Jalen Neal, Kevin Paredes, Cade Cowell, Paxten Aaronson and Ricardo Pepi
Who will be the first 2006?
Let's talk about Darren Yapi last night. He is 18, does not turn 19 until November, so almost 2 years younger than Pepi, for context.
He was really good. Received the ball well, smooth on the dribble and his passing was fantastic. The movement that led to his second shot was 🤌🏾
This young man is up next. To all the young wingers out there: Play without fear, play with a short memory, relentlessly attack—defenders will hate it.
🇺🇸 U20 v. Uruguay in quarterfinals of World Cup:
GK: Slonina
LCB: Wynder
CB: Craig
RCB: Che
LWB: Wiley
RWB: Halliday
CM: Vargas
CM: McGlynn
LW: Cowell
CF: Luna
RW/AM: Wolff
Halliday in for JoGo and Vargas in for Edelman from round of 16. Both are smart changes from Varas.
Rokas Pukstas' development has gone under the radar, but getting starts and scoring goals in Croatia's first tier for one of the two big clubs, at 18 years old, is not a small thing. Bigger leagues are going to come calling next summer.
You don't have to wait very long for another elite 🇺🇸 prospect after Cavan Sullivan. His name is Will Recupero. He is a 2010 and has a 🇩🇪 passport and is already planning for a move to Europe at 16. One of two 2010s playing up with 🇺🇸 U15s. Plays for Boston Bolts.
Anyone else find all the "athleticism" comments as a little bit of a back handed complement. They never acknowledge technical ability. Perhaps I am being overly sensitive, but it comes off intentional as that is all the way going in soccer. I think we showed plenty of skill.
Kevin Paredes bright again in a short sub appearance for Wolfsburg. Has shown a very tidy first touch, one of which started a sequence leading to Wolfsburg winner in stoppage. Also created a chance on a counter. First start is coming, I can feel it.
Looks like the Concacaf U-20 Championships starting in June will allow 20 person squads. Here is how the US team could look assuming Pepi won't be with the team. I think they'd be favorites to win the tournament.
I think the world football market undervalues Jedi, Weah and to an extent Musah. Those are the players that I think will have the largest uptick in demand post World Cup. They are also players that perform the best in the usmnt system.
Atlanta United may have a top prospect on their hands in CM, Adyn Torres. He is a '07 player born late in that year (a good sign) playing for their U-17s. Recently called into the 🇺🇸 U-16 team for the 1st time and I would be surprised if he doesn't stick.
More on his game 👇🏾
I haven't given much thought to this before, but it's occurred to me that Ricardo Pepi is my favorite USMNT player.
He is a fellow Mexican American. He has a great story. I respect his attitude. I admire his talent. There is just something about a clutch player that I love.
CF, Justin Ellis, Orlando City (2007) 🇺🇸🇺🇾
It is time that the 🇺🇸 fanbase start to really become aware of this kid. I think he is one of the most unique and special talents we have domestically and I am not sure we've developed a

like him.
United States Youth National Teams are regularly able to put sequences like this together nowadays and it is pretty cool. Unlucky to not be rewarded with a goal.
1) Santos has completely changed this game.
2) RBNY have no ability to possession, so simple moments like this at midfield can be fatal
3) Vazquez for
#USMNT
Noel Buck is the best American prospect in MLS. It took me a little while to fully appreciate him, but there really isn't much he can't do in the midfield. He is going to get signed for a lot of money at a big club if he stays on this trajectory. No doubt in my mind.
Seems like MLS wants to see how it goes with Apple for a year before it makes big changes.
If they'd loosen roster construction constraints + got rid of homegrown territories—this league could really be interesting.
Pro/rel down the line, and wow, really something.
Just watched 🇺🇸🇯🇲. I thought it was going be worse based on twitter noise. About as well as you'd expect that unit to play given level + time together.
Individually:
+ Turner, Neal, Sands, Ferreira, Mihailovic, Vazquez
+/- Tokin, Cowell
- Miazga, A. Morris, J. Morris, Soñora
Wes has taken his fitness to a new level this year. He spoke about needing to take that part of his game more seriously and it shows that he has. Looks fantastic.
🚨⚪️🔴 EXCLUSIVE: RB Leipzig agree deal to sign Croatian top talent Dino Klapija from Kustosija Zagreb, here we go!
Understand Leipzig will pay €5.2m fee to Croatian side Kustosija for 2007 born striker.
There will be also 10% sell-on clause.
Medical already completed.
Got access to the 🇺🇸 U19 win over England. Here is the first goal by Cole Campbell and it was very nicely worked.
1) Starts with a great line breaking pass from Akinmboni
2) A beautiful layoff from Zambrano
3) A nice through ball from Medina
4) A well timed run by Campbell

All the topics you are use to hearing from us — in podcast form — w/special guests.
Malik Tillman should not consider coming back to Rangers. He has proven he is beyond the SPL and needs to find a higher level next year to continue to test himself.
Sands was very good again today. I'm pretty convinced of him as a CB that should be on the WC roster, plus he adds positional flexibility in an emergency situation. The strength he has added in the offseason has made a huge difference in his viability as a CB.
Haji Wright is one of the best attackers in our pool and should be on the A team squad. I think he is the best winger option right now not named Pulisic or Weah.
If I had to drop someone it would be Aaronson.
