Teaching 6th graders how to find area of parallelograms. We took the shape and proved why the formula work. Their minds 🤯🤯

Building 2-digit numbers with cubes to help develop an understand of place value. We use our snap cubes for everything!! Not only building number sense but mathematical practices of accuracy and efficiency

Flexible regrouping to help Ss find partial quotients. They start with expanded form and then shift a ten until they reach numbers that they can work with. It been a game changer for my Ss @gregtangmath @mburnsmath

For the last 4 weeks I’ve worked with Ts to unpack #sor. We’ve looked at the research, policies and the pillars of literacy beyond just phonics. It’s been a journey. Thank you @RocklandTeacher for this opportunity to teach and help others deepen their understanding
