The Adams admin is so corrupt that a top adviser kept a deadly street from receiving a safety redesign just so she could get two lines in a TV show.
Here's the clip from Hulu's "Godfather of Harlem" S3E3 featuring a cameo from former mayoral aide Ingrid Lewis-Martin. @ManhattanDA revealed that she got this role thanks to the Argentos, who run Broadway Stages. In return, Lewis-Martin stopped safety improvements on McGuinness.

I have a theory that Winnie Greco did the goofy-bag-of-chips-bribery attempt yesterday to try to distract the news cycle from the Ingrid Lewis-Martin non-goofy-real-bribery indictments that were about to drop. But knowing this admin it's probably dumber than that.

I have something to admit: I saw this movie at the New Zealand International Film Festival a few weeks ago. It seemed pretty good but I slept through (at least) half of it because of the jet lag, waking up and sleeping again every five mins or so. Guess I’ll have to see it again.

Companies like DoorDash don’t just *incentivize* delivery workers to deliver too fast — they *require* them to. If workers don’t travel at faster-than-safe speeds, they get deactivated (fired). Want slower delivery bikes? NYC must regulate these Silicon Valley companies.

DLJ seems to no longer involved in the 3+5 Essex project — according to Crain's today, the property changed hands last year. Who exactly is developing the site remains unclear. Either way, seems likely that the garden won't be reopening.

The building (3 Essex) and undeveloped lot / bamboo garden / Cactus Store (5 Essex) were bought in 2012 by DLJ, the same developers who renovated the Jarmulowsky Bank Building, and ended up turning it into the Nine Orchard hotel.

According to a 2017 Lo-Down article, the Cactus Store was supposed to only last a few months as a pop-up! The actual building next door was basically vacant because of structural issues (didn't know this when we used it as a green room for the Acoustic Guitar Orchestra lol)

They're knocking down the Cactus Store building 😭 I made a lot of friends + memories at outdoor concerts here in summer 2022 before it closed — Blaketheman1000 @OrtizGoldberg, the Dan English Acoustic Guitar Orchestra, great shows. I wonder what will happen to the bamboo garden

It’s always struck me as backward to crack down on a working class subway rider who can’t afford $2.90, instead of the (statistically wealthier) driver of a giant vehicle worth $50k who feels entitled to avoid paying to offset their immense externalities. Finally some progress!.
Good news: toll evasion is down >20%! Fewer ghost plates = more revenue from congestion pricing = more funding for transit projects = better commutes for all New Yorkers. 📈🚌🚉.

Funny to compare this to rodent-free New Zealand — I saw one single rat on the whole trip, in Auckland’s CBD. On a nearby bird sanctuary island they constantly monitor for rats, and when a single rat was detected the govt spent an enormous amount of resources to find and kill it.
🐀 🐀 🐀 .@NYCMayor says his various cleanup initiatives have led to a reduction in rats. More soon from his 11:30 event.
