Instead, we just have a number. Bigger than yesterday’s. Maybe smaller than tomorrow.

We (seem to be) at the stage of the pandemic where we just have to accept and pay for the consequences of a government criminally incapable of managing it.
The matter of a parliamentarian growling at Jacqui Lambie, being called out by several others present, then denying it, with supporters declaring it “didn’t happen” shows just how bloody hard it must be for a woman to be believed when she reports a sexual assault in private.

Visited my Mum in her aged care facility today. She’s still waiting for her Covid jab, as she was in hospital when they came around, back in March-April. (Too infirm for us to take her out now.)
Asked three carers if they’d had vax. No.

Living in a democracy *literally* gives this citizen the right to publicly criticise the Prime Minister. You guys are the ones doing the personal attacking, as usual.
There you have it. The people voted this government in, so they must have condoned the corrupt process by which infrastructure grants were allocated. And the government will continue to do this. Thanks for clearing that up, Simon Birmingham.

I just found out about a local trans kid who took their own life. A school-aged kid, whose lovely, caring mum I had talked to and even offered advice, when asked, about supporting her child through a difficult time.
My heart is a bit broken.
I just told the nice lady who called to tell me that my NBN/internet would be cut off that that was ok, I’d had a good run but I guessed I could manage without it and she really didn’t know where to take that.

An NZ-born friend says that back home, they used to hear about the goings on in Oz politics and be shocked at the corruption. She lives here but still regards it with the eyes of an incredulous outsider.
