The @CFMEU’s stranglehold over Labor knows no ends. At the Queensland Inquiry it is clear the union uses intimidation to ensure cartel kickbacks of public money flow from taxpayers into their coffers into Labor campaign accounts. It’s the cartel kickbacks circle of life.

Another Teal con in @FinancialReview. Natural Liberal-Teal vote: 8%. A new Party to fight Labor depends on their voters to succeed. Labor works for unions & industry super. Teals for corporate energy & to undermine democracy. Don’t be conned, this is stupidity on stilts.

And just chatted on @3AW693 about the cartel kickbacks between @JacintaAllanMP’s government, the projects they commission, that get paid to the @CFMEU, that then find their way to organised crime and back to finance campaigns to keep Labor in government. Just awful.

There’s a reason you’re working harder, not getting ahead, yet you feel like the government is? Meanwhile jobs created from public spending and public wages continue to storm ahead.

We wrote to @AmandaRishworth asking her to sack @CFMEU’s Zach Smith as her key adviser on the National Construction Industry Forum & replace him with the Administrator. She wouldn’t. But today DEWR confirmed Smith resigned, and she followed our request & appointed Irving.
Last week I wrote to @AmandaRishworth asking her to replace the @CFMEU representative on the National Construction Industry Forum with the union’s Administrator. Hopefully she does the right thing on behalf of the workers and the industry.

Well meaning Aussies ask why we can’t just have renewables. It’s because all energy has limitations. You can’t run freight using bicycles, nor do a run to the shops in a freight truck. You need baseload for industry, and off it you’ll get industrial investment.

Whistleblowers tell me asbestos is an industry wide problem, and this is just going to get worse. The Minister deflected when asked recently because the projects were before his watch, but this one was during his watch. The issue is what is done now we know.

Thankfully children were let out of detention after he ceased being Attorney-General. Marriage equality also didn’t advance under his tenure. I hope he has changed. I can’t recall his legacy in his second stint as Attorney-General.

I see @AlboMP has appointed a special envoy for Human Rights. When @MarkDreyfusKCMP was first Attorney-General he had carriage of Bills that tried to abolish the office of Human Rights Commissioner, this was at the same time his government was locking children in detention.

Regardless of spirited partisanship, it has always brought people together for cooperation. It is also a time to remember those lost, and thank those who are part of the community-led response which means Australia can strive for virtual elimination.

In the last sitting week we hold the annual World AIDS Day breakfast. Australia’s truly bipartisan response is one of the great achievements of our nation. Each year we reaffirm our commitment to that work. I’m honoured to be Co-Chair with @reneecoffeygrif.

The one thing Australia doesn’t have an inflation problem with under Labor: Parliamentary sitting dates. Geepers. While you work harder, but your wage is eaten by inflation, @AlboMP works less so he can’t be asked the debt spending fuelling inflation.

Only one day as “Shadow Minister for the Melbourne Cup” and we’ve secured our first victory for Melbourne & Victoria. After calling out @AlboMP & @Tony_Burke for punching down on Melbourne they’ve backed down and Parliament isn’t scheduled to sit the first week of November.

Inflation persists again beyond @RBAInfo forecasts. Debt spending by @AlboMP & @JEChalmers ensures inflation persists and keeps interest rates high - and we all pay.

I’m deeply concerned about reports of asbestos in wind turbine components imported from China. I have written to Minister Chris Bowen seeking a pause and audit to ensure Australian contractors are not at risk. Hopefully we see swift action:
skynews.com.au
More windfarms are investigating their turbines for traces of asbestos, as the shadow industrial relations minister called for more scrutiny on Australia's renewable supply chains to ensure workers'...

The Federal government’s approach to excise is insane. Small businesses are getting firebombed. Tax revenue is declining. Organised crime is profiting. And @AlboMP & @JEChalmers are sitting in a firebombed small business on a stool with a coffee saying “this is fine”.

All reports out of Federal Labor was @AlboMP was set to put Chris Bowen’s head on the Ministerial chopping block. Ironically, Turkey just granted him pardon by making him COP31 President for 12 months. Respect for Bowen outplaying Albo. Pity for Australia.
