Maritza Rivera and Sara Nelson did this at the behest of the Chamber. Despite all their lies, the illegal move to a special election, and Amazon cash--their efforts went down in flames. Seattle does not like their agenda. We want progressive taxes and investment in housing.
The Seattle City Council violated the city charter (ie "rule of law) to push Prop 1A to a Feb vote (smaller, more antitax electorate). Sara Nelson & Maritza Rivera *did this at the behest of the Chamber*, which is now trying to buy the election. Gross https://t.co/j8cR9cc8I8

The Seattle Times is right that the election results are a warning to the City Council - but they misunderstand the warning. It’s not to go slow or explain better. The public simply doesn’t want the right-wing policies this Council pushes.

The Seattle City Council must do a better job of bringing the public along and working behind-the-scenes to increase the likelihood of legislative success.

There has yet to be a single public hearing on the SPOG contract, yet the City Council is expected to vote on it today. I have called for a delay of this vote so that the general public has an opportunity to meaningfully engage. https://t.co/uKqF1mZlqZ

There has not been a public hearing on the contract with the Seattle Police Officer's Guild, and it has some local leaders worried about accountability measures.

We've been talking about the Republican rejection of democracy for a while now, but to see and hear them explicitly state it is still unnerving.

(1/3) Jonnika Kwon, Chair of the Washington State High School Democrats, shares her thoughts on why folks should become PCOs: “Becoming a PCO offers a unique opportunity to engage with politics at every level. As a PCO, you will help Democrats win up and down the ballot.

"I want to focus on one argument of the sponsor of this amendment who is saying if we pass this bill, we are advocating the killing of Ukrainians. That is a uniquely demented way of looking at this war." Ranking Member @RepAdamSmith speaking in opposition of @RepMTG's amdt.

Nutso shit. Seattle's Republican City Attorney has gone to war with a judge she doesn't like, disqualifying her from 150 criminal cases and any others going forward. The rare move blindsided the court and usurped the will of the voters. | @AshleyNerbovig

We’re so proud of @RTWRenton 🎉🎊 so much credit to these organizers who worked so hard.
NEW: The @RTWRenton initiative to raise the city’s minimum wage to $20.20 an hour is passing with a margin of 15%. This will make Renton and Tukwila the highest minimum wage municipalities in the U.S.

Imagine fighting to make sure fewer people vote. Sara Nelson is not moderate, and she doesn’t share many of the basic values of the Democratic Party.
In her latest conservative stunt, CM Sara Nelson regurgitates Regan Dunn talking points to oppose consolidating elections for higher voter turnout. But we shouldn't be surprised, she benefits from disenfranchising voters. https://t.co/5osdvjaIOr
