I reported my incident to Boz. I knew he wouldn’t be able to do anything abt it. I wanted to add to the voices. I don’t want justice for me. I’m fine but maybe it’ll be something he can use & say “I received X amount of reports of sexual abuse claims… IHOPKC is not safe.”

My heart is so broken for many, like Shiloah, in the Bickle family but also within the IHOPKC community. IHOPKC had a chance to break the bonds of wickedness & set captives free. They have actively & repeatedly chosen not to.

5 months ago, I thought Mike was the real deal. Were there things I didn’t like? Sure. But I still had respect for him. I’m realizing now, no matter how much we thought we knew our leaders… we never really knew them. Any of them.

Don’t let ppl tell you that you came to IHOPKC for the wrong reasons. You didn’t know what you didn’t know. Coming to KC at 19 was a time of incredible growth for me, both in independence & in Jesus. But it was also a violating & abusive experience. It took me years to see it.

I'm talking w/ some friends that attended the silent protest today in the Global Prayer Room at IHOPKC. For those that are appalled that they would do such a thing to such a sacred place, let me tell you... They were seen & they were heard but more than that, they were respected.

I was one of the more fortunate ones in my friend group. My parents paid my rent & utilities, I was responsible for spending money & groceries. It wasn’t much but I would buy them groceries or coffee. Bc of this, I was often reprimanded for being “materialistic” or “frivolous” 1/
For those who spent an extended amount of time, how many experienced financial hardship to the point of being unable to eat for extended periods? How many saw their relationship with immediate family damaged? How many experienced physical, emotional, or spiritual abuse?

A Lack Of Prayer Life: From my experience those that deconstruct their Christian faith rarely pray. The reasons vary but overall the consensus seems to be why pray to a God that seems to have no control over the world.
