Oh well, that didn’t quite go to plan … Got 9 hours of solid sleep and a shower, but now stuck in Cologne waiting for a replacement bus. At least I’ve got good company! #ESTRO25
My feet are shattered by too much walking in heels, and I'm functioning on about 15 hours of sleep over the last five days. So now hanging out in a cool little cafe, trying to keep awake before boarding the night train to Brussels🚆.See you all in Stockholm next year #ESTRO25

This was also my very first conference with my partner attending - and we even had a joint study to present 😊
How do patients prioritise different aspects of non-operative rectal cancer treatment?.We conducted a prospective, multicentre study alongside a clinical trial; asking rectal cancer patients undergoing definitive RT to help us understand treatment preferences.#ESTRO25 #RadOnc

I gave a total of 5 talks, attended & chaired numerous meetings, made it to too few of the scientific talks (🙏 online recordings!), and saw so many friends and colleagues that I have lost count a long time ago. I even managed to meet a few new people (@NiuSanford!) #ESTRO25

We got to present our innovative #reirradiation treatment planning solution, developed in close collaboration with RaySearch - and we saw the near-final implementation in RayStation. I can't believe that this may soon be available for clinical treatments!
Things that make me happy:.Seeing an RT planning & evaluation solution for #reirradiation that I’ve helped develop in its (nearly) final version. Amazing work by the RaySearch team and my @CRUKRadnetLeeds colleagues. Probably highlight of #ESTRO25 so far for me 😍

The lower GI clinical trials sessions were packed with groundbreaking findings: primary reporting from STAR-TREC, PLATO ACT 4, PRIME-RT, STELLAR II, CAO/ARO/AIO-16, and more ..No other scientific meeting has this high level of #radonc trial & research!.
I’m SO delighted to finally see the STAR-TREC data reported 🤩 #ESTRO25. Short course RT vs chemorad for organ preservation in early stage rectal cancer . 61% vs 80% TME-free survival at 12 months ➡️ More organ preservation with long-course chemorad!.#radonc #rectalcancer

Hella Sand looked at rigid v deformable reg for lung #reirradiation. Both performed well, with good inter-centre consistency, but less variation for DIR, especially for cumulative max dose. Results have driven recommendations in the CURE Lung reRT trial #radonc #medphys #ESTRO25

Isak Wahlsted led a national study of dose accumulation for #reirradiation: 8 diverse cases evaluated in all RT centres.Image reg was consistent & high quality; but diff in a/b & tissue recovery gave substantial intercentre variation in cumulative dose #medphys #radonc #ESTRO25

Great to see first outputs from ESTRO-EORTC ReCare chigh-dose #reirradiation cohort - such data are sorely needed! Jonas Willmann presented characteristics for first 290 patients #ESTRO25; primarily thoracic & pelvic cancers. Patient enrolment closing in on 500 patients! #radonc

I had a lot of fun preparing and delivering this talk! Thinking about evidence-based approaches to paper evaluation - and all the different sources of bias and pitfalls - was fascinating. Many thanks to the Young Track for inviting me! #ESTRO25.
What a way to kick off Young Track at #ESTRO25!! @cancerphysicist teaching us the art of critically reading research papers! Clear, concise and full of further reading material!
