1. For decades, Thailand was once known as a safe haven for dissidents fleeing repression. That all changed after the 2014 military coup. I spent months consulting with @hrw to investigate how the former Prayut regime has targeted foreign dissidents on Thai soil with impunity.

At least 20 civilians, including children, were killed in Myanmar military airstrikes in Karen State in the last three days. Among the victims were a pregnant woman and her husband, as well as children as young as two years old.

Myanmar's civilians face a dual catastrophe: a devastating earthquake and relentless junta airstrikes. Despite the disaster, the military continues its attacks, exacerbating civilian suffering amid calls for ceasefires. My latest for @Myanmar_Now_Eng.

This aged so badly in just a week. A stunningly callous and misguided argument for the cause of junta airstrikes which immediately followed the quake. "We don't know' if the junta is targeting civilians. We do. Attacks have continued in non-combat zones all over the nation, so.

@Nrg8000 1) Media rarely distinguishes b/w air attacks on military targets that incur collateral harm on civilians vs attacks purely on civilians, so hard to say 'most' are on civilians. we don't know. 2) Direct attacks on civilians are usually punishment for action by armed opponents.

It just keeps getting worse. A letter obtained by Myanmar Now reveals the Red Cross informed junta officials about the convoy’s status, details about the convoy, including the names of the convoy's personnel, and the vehicles’ licence plate numbers.

BREAKING: . The junta confirms it fired on a nine-vehicle Chinese convoy carrying aid for earthquake victims, forcing it to retreat. The TNLA, an armed group, had to escort the relief trucks headed back to the town of Nawnghkio to avoid further attacks.
