Mebbe any discontented Resident Doctors could go and work in the US. The pay for foundation Drs is about the same but the pay for Registrars is actually less. Plus they are contracted to work up to 80 hours with NO overtime paid. Oh and the student debt is usually c$350,000.

That's who we make doctors out of now.
@Simonincheshire @RobLaurensonD4P None of us have signed a contract 'committing' us to deliver patient care at all. We've signed contracts of employment, nothing more. And are now legally going to strike in dispute of the contract on offer. Doctors don't harm people, diseases do. Having a doctor is not a right.

@buctootim @TomStocks1982 @gmcuk So, when three patients had upper GI bleeds I must have imagined that the F1 popped in two large lines, ordered blood, FFP, and platelets for two patients while we were in the operating theatre with the third patient. Thanks to her, all three patients did well.

Didn't learn to spell orthopaedics during a four month rotation. Must have aced it.
@buctootim @TomStocks1982 @gmcuk FY1 in orthopeadics was basically the only ward cover - managing sespsis, aruthmias, catastrophic bleeds, attending dead patients. It's was a challenging job but it made me a better doctor. thanks of your ignorance Tim not nice but dim.

A lot of dishonesty from the BMA and junior doctors about pay levels. In their 1st year junior doctors will earn an average of ÂŁ42,000 and in their second year over ÂŁ48,000 - more than the median wage in UK.
