Continuing with closing <dialog>s, in addition to `formmethod="dialog"` you can also implement a dialog close button in the header with an invoker `command="close"`. Perfect way to close a dialog without a <form>.

I still can't get over the fact that I mostly use LLMs for the same reason I used Google in 2012. If Google search didn't get so useless, I would barely need LLMs at all. I can't explain how they fumbled their main product. Literally the face of their company.

God permits this great RAM plague because all of you have been ungratefully wasting it for decades. This is our punishment for WebView2-based Run dialogs. The Lord is just.

Newsweek asked RFK Jr. "why don’t you stop promoting conspiracy theories?" RFK Jr’s reply: "My father told me when I was a little boy that people in authority lie and the job in a democracy is to remain skeptical. I've been science based since I was a kid. Show me the evidence

🚨NEVER FORGET — this was Christmas four years ago when those hesitant to get injected with an experimental and ineffective gene therapy were discriminated against by the government, the mainstream media, and even friends and family. (a big shoutout to @Oliviapetter1)

"Why do people not trust 'the science'?" The science:
The collapse of trust in science is going to go down in history as one of the most sad, bizarre, and destructive social contagions of modern times. We cured diseases, fed billions, and powered nations - and people ran toward conspiracies instead.

oh that’s how it works! interesting.
@putersdcat @davepl1968 @zupet0 Yes, exactly. Samba on a ZFS-based NAS like TrueNAS uses modules (e.g., vfs_shadow_copy2) to emulate VSS compatibility over SMB3, advertising snapshots as "Previous Versions" for Windows clients to browse and restore file versions seamlessly.

windows has zfs support since when?! 🤯
Score one for Windows today! If you have a ZFS pool that is set up for automatic snapshots, you can go to a file's properties and see the prior versions, restore them and so on, all from your desktop. I can't find a way to surface that feature on a Mac, so I'm guessing it's not

the slave cutting slack for his abusive master. peak stockholm. or masochist?
@nikitabier Was it cookie pop-ups, though? Of course not, and you know it. X was fined because it misled users with “verification,” lacked transparency in advertising & refused to provide researchers access to required data. X operates like a black box, and the EU is right to challenge it.

The EU imposes impossible rules so it can punish tech firms that refuse to silently censor free speech. We saw the same in France: a baseless “criminal investigation”, then intelligence services offering to help with it if @telegram quietly censored speech in Romania and Moldova.
The European Commission offered 𝕏 an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they would not fine us. The other platforms accepted that deal. 𝕏 did not.

There are quibbles to this post about the powers of the ‘European Parliament.’ Yes they can vote out the commission and give input to legislation - but they never do this. The Euro parliament is a welfare program for domestic politicians who aren’t worth much. Or they are

Americans probably don’t know the European Commission is an unelected executive body of the European Union, that also has the sole authority to propose legislation for the EU. The EU ‘parliament’ merely ratifies or rejects things. So the Commission proposes the rules, and
Today, we fined X for non-compliance with transparency obligations under the DSA. We're holding X accountable for: 🔹Deceptive design of its ‘blue checkmark’ 🔹Lack of transparency of its advertising repository 🔹Failure to provide access to public data for researchers ↓

Nobody there thinks it's to protect children. All the MEPs in favor simply want to build a surveillance state to stay in power. What they say is purely to make you, the dumb citizen, not notice what their goals are. You have to be extremely braindead to actually believe this will
The EU has approved a revised "Chat Control" proposal. The revised law would require messaging apps to conduct risk assessments, implement age-verification, and allow voluntary scanning for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). 📊 Vote Breakdown: 🟩 In favor: Majority of EU

Design peaked in the 90s, an iconic interface that raised an entire generation: WINAMP It reminds me a bit of those 80s Kenwood stereo systems - lots of flashy colours, buttons, switches, treble, balance, bass. Hardly anyone has a proper stereo at home anymore, let alone LPs,
