The designers I look up to the most arent limited to just Figma or just code. Theyâve mastered many mediums and they make very subtle personal choices about whatâs the âright tool for the jobâ in each situation

Experimenting is one of the funnest things about being a designer. All of you are doing yourself a disservice by just using the same layer styles, same effects, same textures and same actions as some of these tutorials.

Put this design together quickly as promised in @figma this morning. Straightforward stuff except for the skeuomorphic string - that took a little working out. Final screen in the comments.

the bar is increasing like crazy. individuals can't afford to spend 6mo designing stuff like this in a fast moving environment & most avg design teams don't have the chops nor creative leadership to pull this off. cracked teams willing to push the edge have all the advantage

Design is ultimately about sifting through hundreds of wrong answers to find the right one Use whatever tools/process/deliverables you need to achieve this
the best design work iâve ever done, and still do, came from a canvas and this is from someone who is a strong advocate for designing with code

design as a discipline exists in service of the products it creates iâve always built tools. but being a designer has never been defined by the tools we use
Design will suffer in coming years if all designers wants to become design engineers. It's fun watching people create cool things though but I hope designers keep designing and don't go too far away from it.
