Working class Tory voters. I was lucky to go to Oxford.Only Scottish comp pupil in my year. I met these people, I know them. They despise you. I understand aspiration, it's normal, but these people fool you, they're only interested in preserving their own unearned privilege
Apparently Philip was the nation's grandad. My grandad was a communist from a dirt poor background who set up a boxing club to help kids, trained a future Olympian and was Scottish amateur champion twice. The finest man I ever knew. I'll stick with him thanks

I've:
Made a giant matchstick out of tiny models of the Eiffel Tower
Taught a spider to read German
Identified 12 podcasts to definitely not listen to
Eaten my body weight in squirty cream
Watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate
Torn the head off it daily
JFK was assassinated 55 yrs ago today.
Here’s a true story.
A young black boy ran up to his car as it was driving through Dallas
“I want to be president one day” he said
JFK looked at him, smiled & replied
“Then make it happen”
That young boy was Raoul Moat
It's Brendan's birthday. He would have been 23 today. I try to stay afloat by remembering how funny and bold he was. When we were walking up to Easter Road he would approach away fans, hold his nose and say 'YOU SMELL'. My boy x
You know how I was saying yesterday it was impossible to dislike this England team, even as a Scotsman? Well it just got a lot more impossible. This is brilliant
I have a psychotic illness and I've had a profound, labyrinthine and deeply ingrained delusion since I was 16. I used lockdown to challenge, resist, deny and dissect it. Waited a few weeks to be sure before saying this but it's gone.
The improvement in my life is enormous
Oh man this is a hard one, RIP Mike Nesmith. Broken here. At least he got to feel all that love on the farewell tour. I'll always be listening to the band

Marcus Rashford is a working class kid from a single parent family who got lucky. Johnson has had it easy all his life. Only one has learned a sense of morality and civic responsibility. God bless Marcus
As a Scot I've never wanted an England player to score a penalty more than
@MarcusRashford
. Big man you're an example to us all and the best of my adopted country. Please don't let this get you too far down and thank you for feeding so many kids.
It's not just the burqa comments. It's piccaninnies and watermelon smiles and cannibalism and chief killing and all the rest. Not 'gaffes', not 'jokes' but deliberate use of language to degrade and dehumanise people. Johnson is a disgrace
Can't stand Johnson, his initial response to this was dreadful and I've suffered badly under the Tories but wishing someone dead? Come on, we're socialists, we care about people
Paul Weller has donated to Denise's funeral fund. I have to hold my hands up, that is a wonderful gesture and I will now be retiring from slagging him off.
Just me, out in town for the first time in 18 months, after being on a bus for the first time in 18 months, and dining out (greasy spoon) for the first time in 18 months.
Sook ma plums illness ya radge
LOVING the 'keep politics out of football' takes on taking the knee to excuse booing fans who otherwise spend their time singing songs about German bombers, world wars and not surrendering to Irish republicans
I've debated whether to post this but it's important. This lovely woman thought of Brendan and took the time and trouble to find me and tell me this. It means so much. This is why I have faith in humanity, we have such goodness in us, such kindness.
Carol Kaye, who was 86 yesterday. She's played on over 10,000 recordings with everyone from The Crystals to The Mother Of Invention. Pretty certain anyone who loves music will have heard her work. It's simply impossible to be as cool as this amazing woman.
Anycunt taking the piss out of these wee lads is a fanny. Supporting their local team unlike far too many in Scotland and having a great time. Gaun yirsel, absolutely sound
Thanks for all the Ziggy love, I can't keep up with the replies so basically he was found living in someone's garden, she went back 3 years on the local lost pets FB group and found his picture and my number. Namaste
43 years today since this record came out. It changed my life. It sent me on a literary quest that led me to an English degree. It led directly to my son being called Brendan. It is everything
Incredible: Fulham players climb into crowd to celebrate goal with 13-Year Old fan Rhys Porter who has cerebral palsy and suffered savage online abuse after posting footage of himself playing football. Beautiful moment of empathy and human kindness 🙌
Mod started as avowedly internationalist. Italian bikes and coffee. French films and cycling shirts. US shirts and records. Now it's Wellends, fat knackers on scooters with Help For Heroes paintjobs, a shady researcher and his angry Brexiteer sidekick. Pathetic
After 40+ years, endless attempts to quit and cutting down gradually over the last few months I'm pleased to say I've finally given up smoking. Feels amazing
Manchester United's Marcus Rashford has revealed he's raised enough money to supply 3-million meals for vulnerable people. A fund he's been supporting, with the charity FairShare UK, has made about £20m.
@MarcusRashford
After months of fighting for help and support today I've had calls from my GP and the mental health team plus a district nurse in. Feels like I finally have a safety net in place
If I hadn't missed a phone appointment with my GP, if she hadn't called 6 times then phoned my friends, if they hadn't come round then summoned an ambulance crew who got the fire brigade to come in through the window I wouldn't have seen this Christmas. Thanks to them all
The 2010s. Had some of the happiest years of my life with the love of my life and our beautiful cat. Then I lost her. Had the two worst years of my life utterly ravaged by mental illness until I didn't know who I was. Now the cat's gone too. But somehow I'm still standing. Love
My mental health is holding up very well, for which I'm thankful. Big part of that is Twitter. Can't see friends and loved ones but I've got a pile of pals in my pocket. I mean Christ, you lot don't half talk some shite but I love you. Peace out and stay safe
Johnson's hair and shabby demeanour has always been a distraction from his vile ideologies and ineptitude. We're all supposed to go Hahaha he's brushed that with a toffee apple instead of he's killed 130,000 people and harbours criminals in his cabinet
