In this chapter we review the prior archaeological research @tswalu and introduce the two sites our research team has been focusing on - Witberg 1 and Sonstraal! This figure is from Witberg showing the very high density artefact horizon with quartzite MSA stone tools.

Located in the southern Kalahari and ~100 km northwest from Kathu Pan and Ga-Mohana Hill, the archaeology at @tswalu isn't well known but traces of past human activity are all over the place.

My brief contribution to the #pleistocene archaeology of Africa handbook is titled, "The Tswalu Kalahari Reserve, South Africa" where we (@NorthOfKuruman) started working at in 2017. Prior research there mostly focused on the stunning rock engravings. https://t.co/9LLAXCeaov
