Got soooo lucky with amazing weather and sea conditions for our kelp habitat surveys in and around Plymouth Sound this week (watre temp 14degC, viz 6-8 m). Set up some new survey sites and revisited some old sites where we now have >10 years of survey data...... 🌊☀️🌱🐟🦀

A chilly 4 deg C on the rocky shore today, but great to complete some winter surveys for the @BefScale project... investigating resilience of Fucus habitats across a large temp/latitude gradient. 🥶🥶🥶🥶🌊🌊🌊🌊🦐🦐🦐🦐🌱🌱🌱🌱

T'was a suitably cold n grey day yesterday for the final kelp survey dives of the field season. Very happy to get another year of in situ temp/light data and kelp habitat structure in the bag. Only possible with the dream team, 🙏🙏🙏. 🌊🌞🌱🤿📈🤓

Productive but somewhat gloomy day on the lizard 🦎 collecting carbon cores in and around the kelp/mussel farm. Hard work 😓 diving but hopefully got some sweet sweet sediment full of carbon 🤔 🌱 🌊 🤿. Project in collab with @wwf_uk 🤩

Despite blowing a hooley in Plymouth Sound 💨 ☔️ we still managed to complete a vessel familiarisation and skill refresher day yesterday ahead of starting the dive season which (fingers crossed the weather improves) will begin next week! 🤿 🌊 @MBAEcology

Another month of sampling at the seaweed farm complete! 🌊🌱🚜 9°C in the water but we were soon back on dry land to warm up thanks to a great & hardworking team 🤿
