I purchased "Kubernetes In Practice" by @brianstorti and I have to say it looks like what 90% of the industry needs to read to get started with @kubernetesio or to decide that it's unnecessary for their systems/deployments. Thanks, Brian! https://t.co/xPgGyotMN7

The Raft paper ( https://t.co/XYaNUjtZTP) is a great read, and I quote it directly in the talk, but I also enjoyed @brianstorti's friendly breakdown of it

When I was getting started it was hard to know what I really needed to learn to start _using_ Kubernetes. The books I read were either too basic/shallow or were covering a lot of stuff that was not super relevant for me at the time.

Just wrote a script to deploy a PHP5 app using `rsync`. Feels like 2008 but it was fun.

I am at the point in my career as a programmer where I take far more pleasure in a well written, informative, helpful error message than I do in code “elegance”.

Another great post by @copyconstruct
https://t.co/Oz5zQDo3pt IMO her points are valid even for systems that are not really using microservices. If you are working with distributed systems (you probably are), it'll be a great read.
