Always pray for ur womb, for ease in cycles, protection from fibroids, cysts, cervical cancer. For healthy babies. For barakah in fertility. Don’t just ask for motherhood. Ask for a body that can carry it with mercy. May Allah grant us children who’ll be the coolness of our eyes.

but what stays with you is the way suffering walks in unannounced & changes lives forever. I’m reminded every time, āafiyah is the most underrated blessing we forget to ask for. So even when you’re at your best, pray for ur health like it’s your most fragile possession bec it is.

I’ve seen strength collapse in waiting rooms & grief echo off hospital walls. For the amount of hospital stories I carry in my head, I tell myself āafiyah, just āafiyah. For the ones I love. For the ones I’ll love. For my babies I haven’t even met yet. You see a lot in hospitals-.

I’ve had days I came home with my throat choked up, my eyes swollen from crying over someone else’s tragedy, appetite gone. I’ve seen mothers bury the babies they never got to hold. I’ve seen hands shake while signing consent forms they never imagined they’d have to sign.

Never forget to pray for your health. Not during sickness, but when you’re fine too. When your legs carry you without pain, when your heart beats effortlessly, when your breath doesn’t feel borrowed. Because hospitals will teach you what no book ever can, how quickly life changes.

There’s something wildly intimate about handwritten letters. The fact that someone chose to sit & write says a lot about the depth of what they feel. It’s just them, a pen & the most honest version of whatever they had the courage to say. It’s so raw no texts could ever compete.

And when they wrapped the tiny body. I finally understood what they meant when they said: ‘The lightest coffins are the heaviest to carry’. I haven’t cried like that in years. May Allah heal her womb & every part of her that cracked while she bled for a child she’ll never raise.

After birth, I saw her hold that lifeless baby with more gentleness than I’ve ever seen. As if her arms had been waiting forever even if only for a few moments. There’s no medical term that can soften the way grief sits in a room like that. I don’t think I’ll ever forget her.
