For the 2nd time in a week, the
@Columbia
University Senate meeting disabled the Zoom chat. I assume they want to get their work done without distraction. Now they know how students and faculty have felt for the last several months.
The
@ADL
is one of our great partners on campus and
@JGreenblattADL
leads the organization brilliantly. I am grateful for all they do to stand against all forms of hate.
@NYCMayor
Please
@NYCMayor
- try using this site. I’ve been trying to help my parents navigate it. “Please note that each provider manages its own schedules and appointments.” - this is not the way to make serious progress with vaccinations
The
@Columbia
Senate just shut down the chat in its plenary because it was distracting them from getting their work done. They did this while many Senators defended students being able to protest 24/7 in the middle of campus and take over Hamilton Hall.
I’ve been in a lot of rooms of Jews this year. Some fancy, some not. Some right, some left. Some religious, some not. I have never been so moved as I have been tonight
@HillelIntl
#HIGA
. Wow. Thank you for everything you are doing.
An open letter from Columbia University faculty describes October 7—the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust—as a “military action” that falls “within the context of the occupation of Palestine by Israel.”
Leave aside that Israel has not occupied the Gaza Strip since 2005.
In the course of three days, two people were killed in a grocery store because of the color of their skin. Eleven in synagogue because of their religion. And many others had their lives threatened with explosive devices because of their political beliefs. In three days.
Columbia/Barnard Hillel is hiring. We currently have openings in Student Life and Development. Please share these opportunities with anyone who is passionate about Jewish Life and working in an exciting University environment in NYC.
BREAKING: phone was just delivered by a neighbor.
@FedExHelp
delivered the phone to the wrong house earlier in the week and dropped it off without signature. Neighbor was on vacation until today.
World's most expensive shoes: Valued at $17 million, this unique pair of high heels made of gold, leather, silk and 236 diamonds is on display at the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai
One of the many reasons why I enjoyed working with you last year. At a welcome event for new
@cbhillel
students a couple of years ago, I walked face first into a screen door. Major whiplash!
Mine is faith-based: Rushing outside to get the Sukkah decorations hung before the holiday started, I crashed into a glass door I thought was open and broke my nose. Very on-brand.
Antisemitism has erupted on college campuses across the United States. Thank you, Executive Director Brian Cohen of
@cbhillel
, for being an outspoken advocate for Jewish students on campus.

Shame on
@VerizonSupport
Years ago I needed
@LyndaBaquero4NY
to get me my promised offer from them. Now they tried to sell me “same plan, lower price” which was really same plan minus HBO and showtime. They eventually offered a renewal of my existing plan. Crazy that this happens
For decades, Mahathir Mohammed has blamed Jews for Malaysia’s & the world’s ills, recently at Oxford & Cambridge Universities. Among almost 200 heads of state in NY this week, it’s a shame that the
@Columbia
community chose to feature him on their stage.
Thank you
@NYPDnews
for working the intersection at 133rd st and 12th ave in Manhattan earlier in the week. Terrible intersection in need of painted traffic lines and more patrol. Cc
@NYCMayorsOffice
SEE THIS: Two
@MTA
bus drivers refuse to move for 30 minutes, each one claiming they have the right of way. They caused massive gridlock traffic on 13 Ave and 39 St in Brooklyn.
On the first night of Hanukkah, the Columbia community came together to light the menorah in Low Plaza and stand united against rising anti-Semitism. Happy
#Hanukkah
to all.
