Drafting is one thing, but in the next 12-18 months, Danny Briere is going to need his "Leclair/Desjardins" or "Hartnell/Timonen" moment to turn the #Flyers around. Having pro scouts who can identify diamonds in the rough or those currently miscast is hugely important.

I'll say it: #Flyers fans on Twitter are not prepared for the idea that the actual problem could be Matvei Michkov. Punt this year and see how he shows up and performs next season. And just as important, is how Tocchet handles him. I'm no Tocc fan, but we're stuck with him.

Bad: - Michkov struggles (blame all around, imo) - Sean Couturier continuing to slowly go downhill (another coach could fix that?) - 4th line sucks (more of an indictment of the org than the coach, imo) - Severe lack of talent in the organization (not the coach's fault)

Rick Tocchet said assistant coach Jay Varady did a great presentation on fundamentals today for Flyers. Tocchet said Flyers’ fundamentals in first period vs. Kings were “atrocious,” but they got better in second and third. Said fundamentals are everything.
