The young avocado tree at home in Puerto Rico produced its first fruit ever. Some small avocados fell off the tree during a storm. Over 13 were harvested. Mom didn’t want me to miss out. So she overnighted this one to me. It arrived in the mail just now. That’s love! 🥑 🇵🇷 😭

Biggest problem for dialysis patients in Puerto Rico is lack of power. 114 days for some. No power, no dialysis. No dialysis means toxicity and death. It's a horrific situation. Number of deaths much higher than local or federal government care to admit. Humanitarian crisis.

Le acaban de asignar cuarto a mami. Me la suban al piso en 1-2 hrs. Falta que el cirujano ortopeda venga a conocerla/evaluarla. Finalmente le dieron morfina, Toradol y sus medicamentos, y por primera vez desde anoche está dormida.

My mom just called from Bayamón. She had just gone to bed & done her prayers when she heard and felt everything shaking. Thought things would have broken from the movement but everything is fine at home. Dog and kittens are okay. All the neighbors are up and outside.

Same here. It was beautiful. I sat next to an older gentleman with a cane. When the movie ended I asked him if he liked it. He said yes. And told me he was a NASA retiree. Overcome by emotion I got teary eyed and thanked him for his service. I could barely speak.
