Pleased to be quoted by the @detroitnews on the pending release by Michigan State University of privileged materials related to its handling of Larry Nassar. The practical strategic value of transparency and disclosure that can help lead to healing and closure often outweighs the.

My wife has already started texting me gifs of Dan Campbell yelling “Brad”.
Campbell says “we warned you (or him) Brad”. Campbell also just said he ran this by them before the game. It’s pretty clear Brad Allen saw Skipper coming in & just assumed he was the player reporting. The NFL can’t keep letting this happen. It’s atrocious.

I have now been involved with four public investigations where investigators had access to privileged communications. Communities were provided transparency that led to trust, integrity, and accountability that brought healing and closure and allowed institutions to move forward.
Six years later, still front-page news. We had the chance to do this right in 2019 with a robust assessment that would likewise comply with law-enforcement, ensuring reform in MSU's culture, policies and structure. The problems keep repeating. Let's get it done.

Thank you to the @detroitnews, @karaberg95, @kimberkoz for including my thoughts on why it matters to complete a conduct investigation (non-Title IX sexual misconduct here) even if an employee is terminated during the course of the investigation.
Michigan State University has already fired football coach Mel Tucker, but a hearing next week to determine if he violated the university's sexual misconduct policy still will examine the credibility of Tucker and the woman who accused him of harassment.

According to ESPN reporter Dan Murphy, MSU suspended Tucker now because of his "unprofessional behavior and not living up to the core values of the department and university.". What does this mean? MSU did not suspend Tucker for violating Title IX. It suspended Tucker for "not.
The university spokeswoman said the official reason for Tucker's suspension is "unprofessional behavior and not living up to the core values of the department and university." . They didn't learn Tucker had admitted to any sexual encounters until this weekend.
