Here, on the 10th Oct Yousaf says he has no idea where the Sunday Mail’s story that he deleted his WhatsApp’s had come from. Today at the Inquiry he confirmed HE tood the inquiry they had been deleted. He is a liar.
Nearly half of SNP members just voted for the small government, low tax, pro austerity, anti-gay marriage, anti-choice, anti-single parent candidate. Don’t ever darken my door with your “red tories” shit ever again.
“From the river to the sea” means destroying the state of Israel. If you’re at a demonstration and chanting that you’re supporting Hamas, not Palestinians.
"We’ve been the victims of a stitch up."
Stephen Flynn, the SNP Westminster leader, responds to Commons Gaza vote chaos.
He tells

that the Speaker is 'now going to have to convince me his position is tenable'.
There’s lots of punditry around Sturgeon’s performance & the KC’s expert questioning but the important thing is that people who lost loved ones, lost a job, or lost their freedom will never know the reasoning behind decisions because of the SNP’s wholesale destruction of evidence
1. This means the bereaved will now not know the truth of why decisions, like sending infected into care homes were taken. 2. This looks like a *deliberate* destruction of evidence as she *knew* this would be asked for & gave a committment to the bereaved to keep these messages.
Fascinating to watch the very careful & deliberate wording by SNP folk designed to make people think FCDO is leaving Scotland. Argue on behalf of East Kilbride, by all means, but if your cause depends on hoping people won’t notice Glasgow is in Scotland, you really are desperate.
Here's the thing for me on news that the SNP's auditors actually resigned in the autumn. How many times have SNP figures since then used the line that their accounts are audited in response to questions about this investigation *without* disclosing they have no auditors?
Those of you who haven't read the print edition of the Sunday Mail may be surprised to hear that they have a recording of Nicola Sturgeon at an NEC meeting in 2021 saying: “We don’t need to talk about the finances, the finances are absolutely fine.”
Spoke to Ian Blackford about the Labour attack ads, who told me if SNP HQ had made them he'd refuse to share it, and warned our politics was in a "bad place"
The SNP Gov say the sim was with EE. Their website says it is 20 Euros/20GB for data roaming add-on in Morocco. So to spend 12,600 Euros on data roaming that's 12,600 GB of data. That's watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy (in standard def) 500 times. What package was he on!?
Still 55-45. Given hundreds of thousands of older No voters have died in the last decade, nationalists should be asking why the Union side of the argument is winning over voters without an organised campaign, with an unpopular Tory government, & with economic crises. They won’t.
5 years since the launch of the greatest metaphor for the SNP government. Flags handed out, windows painted on, no interest in governing once the cameras depart, a ship going nowhere.
It was a privilege to launch MV Glen Sannox at Ferguson’s shipyard today. She is the UK’s first dual fuel ferry - so good for the environment as well as the island communities she will serve.

Finally caught up with Question Time. Mhairi Black's childish 'yeah but England' answer to everything is typical of what's holding Scotland back. As if💩on a beach doesn't matter unless it's come out an English arse. And the self-congratulation on the GP crisis is extraordinary.
Angus Robertson in 2015. “Now is a time of austerity and huge financial difficulties for far too many people. It is not right for MPs to have a pay rise in these circumstances." Also Angus Robertson in 2015: gets secret £33k pay rise from public funds.
I hadn't realised that Ash Regan interview wasn't the worst one she did today. This one is *extraordinary*. Like someone who should never have made it past the cv-sifting stage busking it in the job interview.
Missing from the SNP talking heads tonight: any recognition that a bad result might be anything to do with anything they have done. Their arrogance is so habitual that they are incapable of humility.
A decade of nothing else but campaigning to divide people and this is all the SNP have to show for it. Imagine if they’d spent that decade on restoring our education system, fixing our bus services or securing green jobs.
He knew on the 9th that the data use was not for parliamentary purposes. He said this to journalists on the 13th. He lied to the media. He should do the decent thing.
"We made sure we never dissented publicly." How many terrible decisions have been made because of that culture of shutting up for that sake of a cause that has gone nowhere?
I joined the SNP in 86. Elected to the Scottish Parliament in 99. SNP elected as minority govt in 2007. We made sure we never dissented publicly. If you feel you are more important than the SNP and if you think your views matter then get a grip. I don’t want to know you. 2/2
Sturgeon’s defence has been that all relevant Whatsapp messages were transferred to official records. The SNP Government covered up the number of WhatsApp messages in response to FOI requests? Why? Because the number is zero. Zero messages were added to eRDM. Lies piled on lies.
For some time I’ve been asking how many of Sturgeon’s WhatsApps are in Scot Gov’s eRDM (Electronic Records & Document Management) system. Today, finally, they confirm the number is zero. They knew this all along, of course. But refused to say so until the pretence was untenable.

says we never had a govt that represented their interest before 2007. Apparently the NHS, welfare state, bringing electricity to the Highlands, new towns, tax credits, minimum wage, land reform, smoking ban, free care weren't in Scotland's interests. 🤷♂️
Thrilled to have been selected as Labour’s candidate for my home constituency of East Ren. I grew up here, live here and will fight like hell for the community I love. I’m out campaigning later if anyone fancies it…?

1. She made the policies, she led the government so can’t use this as an excuse.
2. She made a specific promise to the bereaved to keep these messages.
3. She was never off the telly and now hides behind a spokesperson.
Source close to Nicola Sturgeon says all emails sent by Prof Devi Sridhar to Ms Sturgeon's private/SNP email were forwarded on to Scottish Government channels and Ms Sturgeon has offered to provide these to the inquiry
I can't be doing with the whole pearl-clutching 'oh AUOB have nothing to do with us' from SNP politicians. *Every single one of you* have endorsed this organisation. You knew exactly who they are.
I see that ‘A Force for Good’ (who are anything but that) were demonstrating outside the Scottish Parliament last night. A reminder that this is an organisation ran by a Holocaust denier who was too extreme for UKIP. Nobody should go anywhere near these people.
On the basis of the amount of abuse I’ve received today, deep in the limbic cortex of SNP members, they feel an itching, an uneasy feeling that something went wrong today.
Don’t interrupt the SNP when they (as their whole machine is doing today) say that if you don’t vote for them you’re not Scottish. Their aggressive entitlement really turns off voters.
Lots of replies from nationalists buying the SNP line that they didn’t use WhatsApp to discuss the government response to covid. Here’s the problem: Scottish Government witness statements say they did. This from Uk Inquiry earlier in week:
Even Richard Nixon refused to destroy the White House tapes as he thought it would prove he had something to hide. The SNP had no such worry as they destroyed thousands of covid-related messages. New NoN on a genuine scandal for Scottish democracy.
No action will be taken against these public servants for the knowing destruction of public records (which they are joking about here) as to do so would expose identical behaviour by their political masters. My god we need a new broom in Holyrood.
A conversation between senior Scottish Government officials is shown to
@covidinquiryuk
in which Prof Jason Leitch says: ‘WhatsApps deletion is a pre-bed ritual’
My essay today. An old Labour stalwart I knew used say that a halo, when it slips, can become a noose. That’s why the SNP’s crisis is so damaging: their nationalism was based on exceptionalism and now they’re mired in scandal.
This is extraordinary. The central economic claim made by the independence campaign for the last decade is utter bollocks. Great detective work by Sam but why did the civil service let the SNP government away with this?
The claim that Scotland has 25% of Europe’s potential offshore wind resource is false.
@scotgov
has today conceded this in response to
@These_Islands
investigation. But Scot Gov says it was accurate in 2010 - not so! Read our full report to understand why.
Even Richard Nixon refused to destroy the White House tapes as he thought it would prove he had something to hide. The SNP had no such worry as they destroyed thousands of covid-related messages. New NoN on a genuine scandal for Scottish democracy.
So remember the defence of Nicola Sturgeon was that all her whatsapps deemed relevant were transcribed onto the records system before deletion?(which would have been a breach of her promise anyway) Well…

🚨New NoN🚨
As Sturgeon, like Salmond before her, is arrested what do we know?
💩It’s time to cut the crap, this is why she resigned.
👋By her own standard she can’t remain an SNP member.
🤫 Under her leadership the SNP resisted scrutiny of their finances.
Lies piled upon lies. How on earth can civil servants destroy evidence and then lie to the media about it and keep their jobs? This really does feel like a rubicon for devolution. We campaigned to create Holyrood to ensure greater accountability and somehow have ended up here.
Just found the line from the SG. Emailed out as "background information" day after The Times story: "It is not correct to suggest that the National Clinical Director deleted every WhatsApp message every day."
No wonder they didn't want to put it on the record in a quote
Former First Minister Henry McLeish had a chippie tea tonight while Jack McConnell is looking forward to finally getting around to finishing Better Call Saul.
Yousaf, Forbes & Regan have all confirmed they will speak at the next AUOB event. Here are some clips from the last major event by the organisation that organisation held. I cannot stress how crackers this lot are.
His leadership should never have happened given the sordid campaign against Charles Kennedy, bit it should have been ended by his handling of the Grady affair, not at some point by the ambitions of someone else.
30 years ago the Rwandan genocide began. It’s important to remember that it was deliberate, not spontaneous and that the outside world was complicit, not powerless. A thread… 1/
What a shit state UK and Scottish politics are in. Arrogant, out of touch governments that have been in far too long without enough challenge. Change cannot cone fast enough.

I have a new video for media training when I need to show an example of reframing in a desperate situation. Apparently, the police searching your party leader's house and party HQ shows the SNP are transparent. As if the searches were voluntary.
Kelly Given on SNP transparency👇 "We've had a forensic tent in the Ex First Minister's garden on full view for everyone. We've got people camping outside her house to seek to video her leaving her house. Like that is Transparency? What else can you possibly want?" 😜😂
Here's the then SNP transport minister launching the ship with painted-on windows. We've paid £400M for two ferries that are worth £70M each & that are still not delivered despite being 5 years late. Why has there been no accountability? Because failure is rewarded by the SNP.
The SNP rising at PMQs every week now to attack Labour rather than challenge the government. They look more and more like the barrier to change rather than the offer of something different.
As the SNP spend today trying to delegitimise their opponents (plus ça change!) remember they don’t really believe that the majority view - that referendums on dissolving a union should be occasional rather than regular - is illegitimate. It was Sturgeon’s position until she lost
“We know that if Labour has a majority they ignore Scotland. They did that last time” says Humza Yousaf. The last time Labour had a majority the Scotland Act was passed within 2 months.
After a recording was leaked to them last week, it seems the Sunday Mail now has video of Nicola Sturgeon intervening to shut down scrutiny of party finances. Their website will be worth a look tomorrow.
Tomorrow's Sunday Mail leads on police investigating Nicola Sturgeon over claims she personally refused to open up the SNP’s finances to scrutiny

Imagine writing in the FT & not having the courage to mention you plan a decade of Sterlingisation, then a new currency. Or that your plan would create a hard border with our buggest market. Or that the fiscal hole you complain about is (proportionately) 3 x smaller than your own

know this below is what he really said. They know this but stoke anger anyway. So what happens next? They get what they wanted. A thread on the anti-English pile on… 1/
Lots of good knock-about fun around the Lisa Cameron story but it is rooted in the lack of seriousness the SNP shows towards allegations of bad behaviour internally. Remember this started with Patrick Grady.
Remember I offered to send the SNP leadership details of new members engaged in abusive, misogynistic or violent rhetoric online? They showed no interest. This was one of those members. As well as what is covered here, McLeary also posts about wanting to assault a “quisling”. 1/2
If you had told Scottish Labour a month ago that Sturgeon, Swinney, Murrell, Lloyd, & Foote would all resign; that the gap with the SNP would be down to single digits; & that the leadership contest would be between their worst Minister and their most right wing…
So I think the 'stop talking Scotland down' framing has well and truly jumped the shark after this one. Apparently, if you don't want your weans swimming in shite you're unpatriotic.
The only reason I can think of for her refusing to answer this question is that she thinks she may have broken the law by deleting items and has been given legal advice not to admit it.
Yousaf had a chance to signal to his members, who routinely label their opponents traitors, that such dangerous language has no place in our debate. He failed.
Would love to see polling on the cut-through of the SNP police investigation. Been in two taxis today and both drivers were talking about it. Can’t repeat what they said or I’ll be up for contempt. 🚐
My essay in the Scottish Mail today. This week for Sturgeon was not about securing a vote to endorse progress by the nationalist cause - it was about the FM finding a way to excuse why, under her leadership, they haven’t advanced. Which makes her rhetoric even more irresponsible.
