This is a big deal. More good news! Dengue is a pretty awful disease to get. A vaccine would be awesome!
Extraordinary. RCT shows that after 2 years Dengue vaccines have 80% efficacy for those without previous exposure and 89% for those who had been previously exposed - averaged across all age groups. This is a game changer.

Avinash Paliwal as insightful as ever!
So, it happened. I was on Karan Thapar Live @thewire_in (my first) to discuss the India-Canada crisis, unpack responses of other Western countries, and argue that the wider India-Western alignment won't derail despite visible, serious, complications. https://t.co/TGLK4moOww

Used the amazing, but sparsely used, publicly-available subsidy data compiled under @UNESCO National Education Accounts initiative and combined it with Nepalese LSMS survey.

Therefore, policies designed to increase primary or secondary schooling cannot be justified based on our estimates, while policies to increase higher education might be. Such estimates are useful to design an optimal subsidy regime but are not sufficient by themselves.

Using Nepalese data, we find that at higher education, govt. receives more revenue per extra year of school than it incurs in costs. Higher job formality among more educated is an important reason. In contrast, fiscal returns are quite small for primary and secondary levels.
