@martinrsmith @stefanschoenfe1 I think what's behind it is the same illusion that led to Brexit: that of UK's exclusivity. We're a STEM superpower (still are) because *sometime ago* UK was a welcoming place for overseas talent and offered a great research environment. It's not a given we can retain this.
