This is such an insightful investigation because it shows how the whole system, from the limited technologies to the deficient training, harms trans people.
TSA body scanners have different settings for male and female. They issue an “alarm” when an unexpected body part is detected. We heard from dozens of transgender and gender nonconforming travelers who faced humiliating searches after a false alarm.
