The racist, Islamophobic tropes used by many Members of Congress are intended to suppress our voices and incite violence against us. It’s disgusting how many of my colleagues are silent when hate is directed like this against Arabs and Muslims.
In Senate hearing on hate, Sen John Kennedy says Arab American Institute ED Maya Berry (only Muslim witness) supports Hamas, Hezbollah. "You should hide your head in a bag." Hearing strayed far from beginning which acknowledged Tree of Life victims & 6-year-old Wadea al-Fayoume.

Yeah honestly, nightmare scenario. I think this in every movie where it’s a plot point.
But the romantic idea of secretly buying an expensive ring and using it to propose to someone who isn't expecting to be asked is not a great model for other reasons. You really don't want their answer—in either direction—to be influenced by the feeling of having been surprised!

A good tip is that you don't necessarily have to make the whole thing a high-stakes out-of-the-blue surprise. (In fact that has real downsides.)

I appreciate folks taking up for Tim Walz's son, but be careful. It's not OK that he cried because "sure he's a guy but he's also neuro-atypical." It's OK that he cried bc it's OK for guys to cry, period. Normal people do it. Healthy people do it. Men who don't are the problem

So many replies to this tweet are like “oh so no Jews then huh?” And I just don’t see how these people arrive at the conclusion that the presence of Jews requires illegal occupation, annexation, settlement and racial segregation. I find it so problematic, even antisemitic
It looks like the end of Israel’s unlawful military occupation. It looks like the removal of the settlements. It looks like the return of stolen land. It looks like reparations. And then it looks like whatever the Palestinian people freely determines for itself.
