SecState Rubio claims that no on has died because of USAID cuts and suggested that I had lied in my reporting. So here I show him photos of specific children who have died because of the Trump administration's reckless cancelation of aid:

Many thousands of children are dying because of cuts in American humanitarian aid, and denials by Elon Musk and Marco Rubio don’t change that reality.

Medicaid is a more cost-effective way to save lives than lots of other things the government pays for, like vehicle inspections or some cancer treatments. More from me + @sangerkatz on a big new Medicaid study: https://t.co/fQ7dl4PnmH

Trump 2.0 is likely to be bad for education reform, says Mike Petrilli. It's also possible the loss will encourage Democrats to fight for the center again, including by embracing sensible education reforms. Let’s give this possibility a hearing:

When Harris picked Governor Walz, some of the disability rights advocates in Minnesota I know there were thrilled.

Before he was picked as Kamala Harris' running mate, Tim Walz had done some important work on Medicaid and disability. AARP actually ranked Minnesota number one for long-term services and supports. It's one of the better states for home care. https://t.co/udjZKahtlM

The Walz family’s words and their embrace of their son may seem utterly unremarkable. But that’s the point.

We just announced $6 million to help keep Minnesotans in their homes as they age.   Living at home provides people with identity, comfort, and community. We’re working to make life easier for Minnesotans no matter what stage of life they’re in.

Been thinking.. NAEP should be EVERY year (vs every 2 yrs). NAEP shows which states are improving/declining. (States tests don't show trends when they keep changing). NAEP uses a sample. Scores are by state, not district or school. The pressure would be on states to improve.
