Point 1 and 2 seem to contradict each other. The Texas GOP won 58 percent of votes in US House elections in 2024. The GOP holds 66 percent of US House seats in Texas. Can you clarify @leachfortexas?.

This is, quite literally, fake news. They showed up and established quorum, symbolically walked out, and two returned to vote on the bill anyway. You must never accuse the Texas Democratic senators of fighting back.

The real book ending may well be Cuellar switches parties.
This seems like a gamble. Trump's not on the ballot and the GOP is really counting on the 'trend being your friend,' i.e. Hispanics continuing to swing bigly against the Dems. The storybook ending to this saga is that Henry Cuellar saves democracy from federal prison.
