Mia Kinney displayed skills Monday night in a win at Farragut that very much showed why she’s a Vanderbilt commit. Here’s more on the Catholic standout and the match against the Lady Admirals. THE READ ▶️ https://t.co/Iu1AtlIWM8

Social media is filled with motivational quotes, but the world severely lacks truly motivated people. Talk is talk. It’s easy to say the words, much harder to do it. True motivation is intrinsic. Find yours & use it to fuel purposeful actions that make a difference in your life!

Average college players spend 3,000 hours on their game in 4 years. Only 4% of that is spent on actual game play. You need mental & physical stamina, toughness & a willingness to work regardless of success or playing time. You have to love the process of what it takes to compete!

The most addictive drug in the world isn’t fentanyl, heroin, or cocaine. It’s comfort. Comfort & routine go hand in hand. For growth to occur, however, you must experience discomfort daily. Learn to crave it. What happens next? Your mindset shifts & you become tougher & stronger!

Treat everyone with the same respect. That lower level coach you just blew off could be at your dream school next year. Be grateful that any coach reaches out. A lot of players would love to be in your shoes. Talent is one thing, but a humble athlete with character is next level!

Let your kids struggle, fail & lose. Experiencing loss is essential for growth, maturity & learning. Kids aren’t supposed to win all the time. Fake trophies are meaningless. Let them feel & accept failure sometimes. It’s a part of life. You can either pamper them or prepare them!

PARENTS: Don't build your happiness around your kid’s athletic performance. If you get in a bad mood because they played bad, take a break from the game. Your kid needs to have tough performances to learn, not have great performances to make you feel good. 🗣️ @DrBhrettMcCabe

5 questions you can ask your child after a game. 1. Did you have fun? 2. What did you learn? 3. Did you do your best? 4. Were you a positive leader? 5. Did you support your teammates? And wrap it up by saying... “I Love Watching You Play!”

When you don’t play as hard as you can every minute that you’re in the game, you’re making a selfish choice. You’re saying the outcome & your teammates don’t matter & aren’t important to you. Giving 100% & playing tough is the only right choice to make for yourself & your team!
