ed(1) has no telemetry either, nor are there even any noteworthy download statistics, due to being part of any proper POSIX base install. But why users like it? It's the standard text editor.

Reminded of this gem of a song from my buddy and Kamloops’ own. #kamloopsFolk

What were the many multiple “POP! POP! POP!” bangs (or were they “BANG! BANG! BANG!” pops?) in downtown Kamloops ~05:20 this morning?

YMCA at 4th and Battle, or something very near it on fire. Looks like it may be controlled at this point. #yka

i think the leather tray bugs me more than the clothes (which at this point, are all in partnership with brands) because paris is full of independent leather craftspeople who do much better work than any luxury brand. we should promote artisans over brands when possible.

This might sound like a joke, but there’s value in this tweet.
Decades ago I wrote C in ed(1) Years ago I wrote PHP in ed Months ago I wrote Python in ed Days ago I wrote Go in ed Today I write awk in ed 10 years from now I'll still be able to write C, PHP, Python, Go, awk, or whatever, all using ed(1) just fine over an SSH connection.

I have no rectangular selection (does piping to cut(1) count?), and one cursor. Is my editor self loathing?
You know I say "Don't learn Languages, learn Programming"? I can say the same about Text Editor. Don't learn Vim or Emacs. Learn how to Navigate by Searching, Rectangular Selection, Multiple Cursors, Macros, etc, etc. These are the concept applicable in any Self-Respecting Editor

You can learn C in a few weeks. Do it. Most people do not become full-time C programmers, and that's a good thing... But C is still in the top 5 most used programming languages and it has been the case for the last 40 years. It is hard to beat as a track record. Let us say you
@techsavvytravvy @lemire I remember buying "Learn C in 21 days" when I was 17. Used a couple of more weeks, so yeah. But useful? Nah. Took a decade before I had any use for it (compilers), and that's 13 years ago. Being proficient enough to do something useful is a different thing than learning ofc

Who’dathunk I’d give props to @elonmusk? Elon says “F this sh*t“, I support.
I was wondering if anyone was going to sue OpenAI for apparently taking investments while claiming to be "open", then morphing into a closed, clearly-just-for-profit company. The answer turns out to be yes, and it's @elonmusk! https://t.co/S39I8IUCFw
