Since its inception, our largest anti-child poverty policy never gave a dime to families living in *extreme* poverty. The relief bill leaves this moral stain behind by making the child tax credit fully refundable. No child is worth less than another - policy must reflect this.
The child tax credit in the COVID relief bill that the House passed could cut child poverty by HALF across America. Yes, let’s make it permanent. Poverty is a policy choice and we must choose differently.
