⚡SHOCKING! Baroness Finlay highlights that we simply don't know if any of the assisted suicide drug mixtures are safe(!), or what would happen if complications arose, as they often do in international cases. The Bill doesn't answer any of these rather urgent questions!

Worried about coercion going on in a family to convince someone to opt for assisted suicide? There is no appeal route on the ‘panels’ Ex judge Nicholas Mostyn dismisses concerns. Judicial Review for a concerned care assistant is easy-peasy, he claims. Is it? Astonishing

☠️WHAT MONSTER ARE WE CREATING? Former New Zealand MP Simon O’Connor explains that just 4 years after the legalisation of assisted suicide, NZ has policies to take organs from euthanised patients, despite the public being unaware this would happen when the law was passed.

Prof Alex Ruck Keene KC is extremely well-qualified to comment on the bill: an expert on mental health and capacity, and a barrister who has taken a pro-AS case all the way to the Supreme Court. Here’s his answer when asked if the bill is fit for purpose: https://t.co/javr5TdanG

Worth a watch. Too little thought into how these unnatural premature deaths affect loved-ones

Completely agree with @lucianaberger and the panellists. Why create a 'coroner-free-zone' for these unnatural deaths? Leaving coroners out of Assisted Dying would be a huge mistake. Coroner's Inquiries can be hugely useful and can uncover issues, as well as help learning

Key line of questioning from @lucianaberger. The bill's failure to involve coroners means chances will be missed to pick up cases of medically-assisted dying where domestic abuse was a factor. Both expert witnesses - medical examiner & former chief coroner - completely agree.

This is what we can expect @amcarmichaelMP in short order if the @kimleadbeater bill becomes law. We can only hope the @UKHouseofLords will do the right thing and reject this poorly conceived bill.

Reports of a huge cabinet backlash to Starmer's mad Digital ID policy. This is a fight we can win. The public can feel detached from politics, but the opposition has clearly spooked Labour - I suspect the British people underestimate how much power they actually have. Writing

What does Islam say about #assistedsuicide ? Sensibly, "all lives are to be revered and protected rather than ended prematurely,” ...one of the foundational principles ...is the protection of the sanctity of life and the preservation of human dignity.”

What this headline/story fails to convey is: only if you unethically exploit women’s bodies for surrogacy and ignore the fact that all babies have a birth mother even if she is gestational rather than biological. No thanks to this dystopian future.
