This fearmongering has been bothering me all day. One source, from the chemical industry. No cities mentioned, except Toronto. Which will not be affected, bc our chlorine is trucked in. And also yes, why do we deserve clean water if many Indigenous communities don't?

@balkissoon @TabathaSouthey Yes. When this story appeared on our local TV station, our utilities CEO was very chill, saying we have plenty on hand.

@balkissoon So by your logic no one should have clean water? How 'woke' of you to choose for us not to mention amazingly efficient to squeeze this junk in between your 17 easy muffin recipes and Kate Middleton casual chic on a farm visit columns @Chatelaine

@balkissoon They have clean water. Its just not as clean as the most recent technological advances have allowed to become standard in metropolitan areas. Think of it like internet speeds. Or perhaps lattes is a more relevant metaphor for you.

@balkissoon CN Rail had a weeks long strike in November and I didn't see half of the dramatic posts about shortages that I see now ๐Ÿ™„

@balkissoon Ahh, cause in the past water, municipal/ city, had lines up to edge of reserve. Reason was โ€œ this is federal landโ€. Some reserves have clean water crises with no reply or very slow federal response.

@balkissoon @vanishedfaces Oh, so you mean some people might not have clean drinking water? Sounds like more than a few reserves...
