I don’t think you understand how this works. Gas does regularly set electricity prices. And it does so at prices regularly below the strike (guaranteed) price of wind. So wind gets a subsidy on top of the gas price to make sure it always gets the index-linked strike price,
Natural gas sets our energy price 98% of the time. Gas that is 40% more expensive than wind. It’s critical we move away from this volatile market that puts at risk from geopolitical events.
