An underrated part of fighting the good fight is giving yourself a chance to win. @sardesairajdeep is the only liberal mainstream anchor in India. The Caravan shames him for compromising in order to actually win some people back over to the side of sanity. History will be kinder.

🚨Everybody’s Guy, Rajdeep Sardesai In my cover story for @thecaravanindia’s media issue, I chart the star TV anchor’s contribution to the collapse of news that he laments today — his failure to evolve, access journalism, spiking stories, and more:

For @AshokaEdict, we take a look at 10 years worth of data in the Major-Minor report, and chart out the ways in which Ashoka has changed as a University since its inception in 2014, from the batch of @simrin_sirur @AnganaCk to mine, @devanshmittal_ @geetswrites (0/n)

Will Indians continue to donate as a community, or become more individual? The community-based pattern seems to favour Democrats. And, will the tariff-war force Indian-Americans to think in terms of community in federal donations? The past, pre-alliance era might have answers

Indians are not a monolith however, with significant variation inside the community based on wealth. Take the Healthcare Professionals of swing-state Florida. Trump can woo individual rich Indians, but not the community at large, and the best organisers of community-wealth

Unless 2024 data shows a significant variation, Trump has not significantly benefited from the wider Indian community -- which, as @joyopal points out, might explain his recent actions.

Which isn't to say there isn't partisan biases among the community. Contrary to popular opinion, Indians remain resolutely DEMOCRAT, with some room for the GOP in Congressional races.

What cannot remain in doubt, is that Indian-Americans are capable of functioning as a community in American Politics. From giving candidates a leg-up to kickstart their political careers to efficiently organising small-n donations as a community https://t.co/HVHXnVkfQX

@OpenSecretsDC The Indian-American community tends not to have a lot of ultra-rich billionaire donors. Their power comes from organizing: influential "bundlers" host meet-n-greets with the candidate to get other Indians to donate and end up raising millions https://t.co/ACcp3iuXWB

Some notes from our latest work on Indian-American Political Donations in the 21st century that could provoke interesting conversations on both the Indian diaspora, and their role vis-a-vis the two bickering countries. (1/n) full paper - https://t.co/IVWD961gNU

Trump’s tariffs on India may be partly explained by who funds his politics. Our study of two decades of Indian American lobbying in the US shows a strong, consistent Democrat lean, with Trump-1 scoring among the lowest ever share from Indian Americans (1/n)

For 7 days now, the Ashoka Administration has fastidiously ignored the protest happening on its doorstep. A protest for workers' rights, exactly the type of thing taught in our classrooms, yet ignored just outside their walls. #JusticeForAshokaWorkers #AshokaUniversity
