I respect this man standing strong against drugging his child. But I wonder how much physical activity is available in this situation?. If he ran around in a backyard or park from dawn till dusk, would he have trouble sleeping?.

I once proposed a project plan to my boss. He rejected it. I went back and printed it out in landscape and color. And resubmitted it. "Now this is more like it!" he said and approved it. I learned a lot that day.
I cannot get over how easy it is to fool people with infographics. The quickest way to an "attaboy" from your fellow educators is to make an infographic. It doesn't need to be accurate, true, or even good - just colorful.

@attentionfixed Right, because regurgitating "tangible facts" that can be learned w/o school = employable. Functional means they have value to others, actual skillsets, and employable qualities. Oh, & let's not teach people to be practical, good stewards of their bodies.

There are two proven ways to reduce anxiety. 1. Confront what makes you anxious. This is called exposure therapy. 2. Become competent at a handful of skills. This raises your self-esteem. You won't feel like you're at the bottom of the social hierarchy.
Pro-Tip for Anxiety Reduction: . Schedule a Time to Worry! . Give yourself a timeframe during which you “allow yourself to be anxious” + when you’re anxious, keep reminding yourself throughout the day you have an allotted time for it. Choosing the same time every day can help!.

Parents, please understand this is coded language for "I can't teach your kid basic knowledge.". You send your kids to school thinking they will learn tangible facts about the world. Instead, they get the same gooey, emotional soup year after year. End result: unemployable.
I'm in the business of developing healthier, happier, more functional people. Not better test-takers.
