Good riddance! The moratorium would have blocked states from regulating AI or having a say in where Big Tech could build the data centers that power it.
NEWS: The Senate has removed AI moratorium from the reconciliation bill in a whopping 99-1 vote. Deals a massive blow to the effort to make this happen in the GOP package.

The same thing goes for Amazon. In internal docs, the company even admitted that sellers "live in constant fear" of retaliation from the company.
Why Wal-Mart has power to squeeze its suppliers. "Dial Corporation, maker of Dial soap, does 28 percent of its business with Wal-Mart. If it lost that account, it would have to double its sales with its next nine customers in order to maintain the same level of business.".

Yes, tech innovation can be a good thing -- but we should be wary when it's used to funnel profits into fewer and fewer hands. Doubly so when Amazon is using public money and infrastructure to do it.
