Excellent (and heartbreaking) thread to understand the nuances of data we're seeing.
There is something funny happening with COVID hospitalizations. Proportion of COVID pts getting hospitalized falling. A lot. Just recently. My theory?. As hospitals fill up, bar for admission rising. A patient who might have been admitted 4 weeks ago may get sent home now. Thread.

Better public health campaigns and smarter, kinder messaging to kids is important, but we also need to demand better from companies producing (and aggressively marketing) the sugary, processed foods in the first place.
#Calories in - calories out = #FatShaming. But calories are the wrong metric. Insulin is the right metric. It's about #MetabolicHealth. It's about #UltraprocessedFood. 88% of America is metabolically ill. The way to stop fat shaming is to kill the calorie.

Seems short-sighted to focus on only deaths as the measure of severity of COVID-19. As the virus is causing permanent heart, lung, and liver damage, I imagine we'll see insurers classifying it as a preexisting condition, adding further economic hardship on top of health hardship.
