Struck me earlier how far son has come when I saw him drinking Coca Cola from a bottle that had a name on that isn’t his. Last time they put names on we had to raid stores and buy all the bottles in his name to get him to drink. Progress comes in many forms I suppose.

D is out with PA for 3 hours later so why am I planning to clean her room? I find a task every time rather than enjoying a bit of time to myself ( well I still have son so not strictly true) Crazy isn’t it?.

Moaning to d earlier that tin opener was on the blink. It’s the best ever I brought it from in laws when emptying house. D looked to see if she could find same again. Manufacturing date 1989 so I suppose it’s served us well.

Had contact with GP who wanted not to reduce d’s meds but wean her off. Seen the error of her ways after I insisted initially px by psychiatrist so I would want a referral to psychiatrist to discuss removing them. Suspect next year’s med review will be done over the phone.

“We’d like to lower the dose of D’s antidepressant” she has no side effects is on a low dose and it takes the edge off the anxiety so for what reason? “ We’d like to see if she can manage on less” Told GP we will think about it. Why mess with what works?.

Icing fairy cakes for grandson’s visit set me off maudlin. I’ve iced pink fairy cakes every birthday for d for 32 years maudlin over whether she will be upset when I can’t. Shook myself knowing I’m going to leave 2 kids dependent on others so the fairy cakes are nothing really.

12pm surgery rings asking to swap d's medication review appointment from next Monday to today at 2pm. I declined, I can't spring anything on her, they have no clue about d's needs as demonstrated by the huff I got in response.
